GDT - Sens @ Leafs

number17

Mod Squad
Last game before the bye week and the sad Sens are coming off a 8-2 massacre in the hands of the Blackhawks just last night. We just coughed up a point in the last 5 min of the game 2 days ago ... all signs point to the fact this is a game we have to win tonight.

Dermott is out for tonight as Babs is now rotating Carrick, Borgman and Dermott. The goat is still in, Moore is still out. Otherwise no changes to the lineup.

Let's kill the Sens for good before our week off!

Go Leafs Go!!!

Well, this is probably the Sens SC this year, so I'm sure they'll put in a good effort. With that said, no excuses to not get 2 points here. They played last night, and they are the Sens.

I'm really not sure what to expect from this game.

Ottawa kicked our asses earlier this season, but this is the first time we're playing them since their 18-wheeler went off a cliff.

It's also always hard to predict how a team's going to respond to getting blown out in their last game like they did against Chicago. Do they come out of the gate hot, and extra motivated? Or will they meekly let the Leafs put the boots to them while they're down?

No matter what, though, no excuses. These are two points the Leafs really should be putting in the bank before going on break.

I think they will rain fire and fury on us in the first period. But maybe not, given Boucher's system. Either way, I'm apprehensive about this game.

Better question is how is he in the lineup period.

Legend:

Letter Grades = Quality of Competition measured by opponents' time on ice, Converted into Letter Grades for simplicity
p60 = points per 60 minutes
CF% = Corsi For Percentage (i.e. shot attempts for percentage)
xGF% = Expected Goals For Percentage (i.e. shot attempt percentage adjusted for shot quality) - this stat is already adjusted for zone deployment and game score
In Brackets = CF% and xGF% relative to team
dsv% = difference between save percentage and expected save percentage

How do you sit Dermott after how he played in his first two games?

More and more I'm developing a disliking for Babcock. I'll wait 'til the end of the season before making a firm judgement about him. Hate the way he has the team playing right now as much as the lineup decisions.
