Hockey analytics are pretty immature and mostly garbage at this point. According to advanced analytics, the LA Kings would have won the last two Stanley Cups. The Canes were better than the Penguins he last two years as well by any Corsi measure. Funny how it works out when the guys taking the shots are Crosby and Malkin versus Rask and Staal.

Look at this years Corsi % (CF%) among active players. Hanifin is the 3rd best in the entire league! Guys like Connor McDavid don't even make the top 50. For everyone one person on this list that makes sense, there are 5 names that are head scratchers. If this is the kind of crap Francis is relying on, no wonder the team hasn't made the playoffs in almost a decade.
