GDT MAR 21: Spring in the Air

The Jekyl and Hyde routine with this team is more extreme than what you typically see. Can look like world beaters at times and others they look like an ECHL club. Can't just completely stop playing the way they have tonight against a team like Tampa.

Expecting them to prevent Tampa from ever winning a shift or getting a high-danger chance is a tad unrealistic.

Expecting the goalie to stop the occasional un-screened, un-deflected wrist shot, however, is quite realistic.
 
Andersen didn't help his case but the team in front of him did NOTHING the last 15 mins.

please. elite teams are going to outplay us for stretches. especially when they're down 3-0 at home.

It's not just winning 1 shift. They have won every shift after the first 35 minutes of this game.

I don't care if you play great for half a game. If you completely drop the ball the rest of the way, you won't win tough games like this against good teams, especially in the playoffs.

There has to be push back at some point. After they score the first or second goal, continuing to sit back and being passive ends up the way it has tonight.
 
Babcock running Hainsey into the ground early in the season is coming back to haunt us. This is NOT a guy to count on for major minutes. We knew this when we signed him and did nothing about it at the deadline. Major fail wasting an asset to pickup a turd in Plekanec instead of a defender.

Moore > Plekanec.

Imaginary defender we could've got for that 2nd + > the corpse of Plekanec. Habs fans having a laugh in a poor season having duped Lou.

Yeah, a certain defender on Tampa would look good on our roster right now.
 
Lousy backhand lob pass by our guy. If all of our guys could lob like Palat, we would terrorize the NHl. Damn, and its so easy.
 
Man the Lightning just fed it to us this period. Blame Andersen all you want, but not a single HD chance all period for the Leafs. Completely suffocated.
