So first leg of back2backs against the top 2 team's in the league.....on the road.

really wish Auston was back. then again, another strong game from Johnsson and leivo and maybe we get some permanent changes to the lineup when he gets back.

and with Palat back, Tbay is guy healthy now too.

tough game, but Vas is scuffling and we're rolling pretty well.

Legend:

Letter Grades = Quality of Competition measured by opponents' time on ice, Converted into Letter Grades for simplicity
p60 = points per 60 minutes
CF% = Corsi For Percentage (i.e. shot attempts for percentage)
xGF% = Expected Goals For Percentage (i.e. shot attempt percentage adjusted for shot quality) - this stat is already adjusted for zone deployment and game score
In Brackets = CF% and xGF% relative to team
dsv% = difference between save percentage and expected save percentage

Willy was pretty bad vs. the Stamkos line in the last meeting between these 2 teams, and was moved back to W for 2 games after the last Tampa game. I hope he can seek revenge and redeem himself tonight.

Stralman and Hedman on Willy:

As for tonight's game, the Lightning aren't about to let their guard down just because Matthews is out. A couple of their top defenceman played with Nylander at the World Championships and know what he's capable of.

“Just his vision, really," said when asked about what stands out about Nylander. "He seems to be able to find plays when no one else can and he’s one of those guys you have to keep an extra eye on. And he’s got a good shot too so he's not just a playmaker, but I think his vision is fantastic.”

Nylander was named MVP at the worlds helping Sweden take home the gold medal.

"Unbelievable speed," said Hedman, "good stick handling and can make plays out of nothing and, obviously, a game changer. He can change the momentum of the game by himself. He’s becoming a more and more complete player in this league and a big reason why Toronto is where they are. We’re going to have our hands full with him tonight.”

Vasilevsky, last 5 games: 4.4 GA/G, .876 sv%

If this guy continues like this, the Bolts are in deep shit.

Posting a .922 on the year

He was .930 after the xmas break iirc

Swedes are like Australians, huge supporters of each other. I am sure Willy would sing the praises of Anton and Victor as well.

Stammer and Kuch's numbers are pretty insane across the board with respect to their production.

Interested to see how we do without papi

We are playing great team defence..... Why? Because the Russian Black Hole is not back there, to give away, all our structure. Watch when he comes back, how lost we will seem in comparison.

Getting some nice looks at Vasilevsky early. Keep that up, please.

Lightning still not great in their own end.

McDonagh is useless versus Leafs. Good against slower teams. But bah, they gave up nothing to get him. Wish they had traded something of speed and value.
