Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

Checkers results last week:

Oct 19 Hershey W 4-3(SHO) Neds with the win. Gauthier, Roy, and Kuokkanen with the goals. Geekie and Necas with shootout goals.
Oct 20 Hershey L 2-0 Neds with the loss.

Checkers play 3 on the road this week, @Utica on Wed, @Binghamton on Friday and @Syracuse on Sat. Darling's conditioning stint of course is the big news this week for the Checkers.

For those hoping that when we got draft picks and crap (I mean Pu) for Skinner that Pu don't stink, well, Pu has 1 assist and is +2 in 6 games. Slow start but not terrible.

On the 'will we ever develop another goalie?!?!' front...Neds is leading the AHL in wins and is 9th in GAA (2.17). He has a .917 Sv%. Callum Booth has only manned the door so far for Charlotte. In Florida, Jeremy Helvig lost his first 2 starts but with a 2.07 GAA and .927 Sv%. Minor leaguer Jamie Phillips has the other 2 starts for Florida (2 wins, 1.50 GAA, .943 Sv% not that his stats matter, he isn't Canes property). Steven Lorentz has 6 points in 4 games for the Everblades.

Harvard played an exhibition against the USNTDP U18 team on Saturday. Adam Fox had 2 goals but Harvard lost 6-3. Drury didn't record a point and was -3 but was 11-5 on faceoffs. They open at Dartmouth on Saturday.

Steven Lorentz had himself a game for Florida last night, picking up 5 of his 6 points on the season with a goal and 4 assists as the Blades beat Norfolk 6-1.

Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

cmal, could you specify the defensemen as LD and RD? With all this talk about play Fleury on his natural side and TVR on his off side, it would nice to see what we have going in the pipeline. Thanks.

Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

I’ve never been to Nashville, seems like as good a time as any to visit.

That’s an omission in your life that needs to be corrected.

Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

Nashville is basically Raleigh with more bars and an NFL team. And also lots of places to buy cowboy hats and cowboy boots. I would not make a special trip to go there.

I should add I am not a country music fan . I guess if you are it might be worth visiting once.

Re: 2018-19 Canes Prospect and Cherkers Thread

Bah ... Nashville is awesome. Wonderful restaurant scene and a thriving music scene of all kinds. Forget the country stereotypes like those presented by Paulie. It's a grand, modern southern city with a ton to offer. Every good city has its own flavor. Nashville's happens to be spiced by the country music industry but that doesn't define the place any more than BBQ defines Raleigh. OK, more than that, because you still can't get decent BBQ in Raleigh but you get the point.
