OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

I'm really hoping JPA maintains his 10BB, 200K pace. That would be truly epic.

Every time I look at his stats, I think misprint. His last walk was April 22nd.

i think JPA has a lot to do with our starters shitting the bed. guy is waaay to dumb to call a game.

He has certainly contributed to it. Zaun was breaking down how he has been hurting Burhele and Morrow a couple of weeks ago. His positioning is wrong, his pitch selection is wrong (not strategy behind it, no setting of the hitter up).

This is where our coaching staff have to get involved and stay on him because he is freaking stupid.

... and he doesn't bother presenting a target. too much effort, gotta save it for the swings.

somebody should punch tabler in the face the next time he uses the phrase 'he comes to the plate with a plan'.

today's strike zone was brutal. because not only was it a wide zone, but it (1) kept changing and (2) you could see the idiot ump get himself inot trouble and have to stat calling pitches that were way out of the zone strikes just to make his earlier calls not look bad.

While I generally don't enjoy blaming the refs/umps, that was not a well-called game at all tonight by the home plate ump. Last "strikeout" was laughable.

Wish there was a way Brett Lawrie could channel some of that ego & rage into a goddamn base hit once in a while. A lot of criticism (and rightly so) for JP and his now-.239 OBP, but Brett is sitting at .248 himself. What happened to the kid who first came up here with a nearly flawless batting eye?

i think he's still pretty good at not chasing stuff outside of the zone. they're killing him in the zone by mixing speeds, i think.

Maybe, but I don't think a single pitch in that last at-bat was in the strike zone. He managed to foul off quite a few, but he is really scuffling badly right now.

the guy went from swinging at 39% of pithces to ~47% the past two years. (22% out of the zone to 31.7 and 31.4 past two years)

he's become a lot less selective, which is probably pretty weird.

someone in the org probably ****ed with his approach.
