Lucic is an example of a potential salary dump scenario.
ROR will fetch some good assets, a center who has consistently gotten over 55 points a season

A backup goalie , an overrated D man and 2 maybees in 2020+ for a proven 200 foot 2C is hardly an overpayment . Buffalo can do better than this .

Not true. There were lots of rumors that he was trying to trade PK right before he did. The Petry acquisition was rumored for days. There are other moves he's made that were also rumored to be happening right before they happened.

It only looks like an over-payment cause Habs defense right now is fragile. I said it before , if the Habs trade Petry that is a first step in blowing things up on the team. If our defense was a bit deeper, the trade doesn't look so bad because the need for a centre is just too great.
