This site has a list of who they think are the top guys to follow. It doesn't look ideal since they have Eklund on the list... but I'll go through and copy and paste the whole list anyways. Then people can decide for themselves.

Copy and paste of players to follow

PRO HOCKEY PLAYERS - NHL (CURRENT)
@BizNasty2point0 Hilarious and outspoken, Paul Bissonnette of the Phoenix Coyotes provides an ongoing look at "4th line plug life". The "2point0" of his handle refers to his brief hiatus from Twitter; fan demand got him back online.
@commie22 Mike Commodore, now of the Detroit Red Wings, actively interacts with fans and has given insights into both NHL and AHL lifestyles.
@grabs40 Michael Grabner, nicknamed "Gremlin", made headlines this year when, after being traded by the Canucks and waived by the Panthers, he got scooped up by the Islanders and ended up being a Calder Trophy finalist. He's very interactive with fans as well.
@LoganCouture San Jose Sharks forward and Calder Trophy finalist, Couture is one of the more prolific NHL tweeters, and frequently interacts with fans through his Twitter.
@ryanwhitney6 Ryan Whitney of the Edmonston Oilers has a great sense of humor and often chirps with his fellow teammates Taylor Hall @hallsy04 and Ryan Jones @jonesry28 - they're all worth following.
@b_ryan9 Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks has proven to be a popular player not just on the ice but Twitter as well.
@Jtootoo22 Jordin Tootoo of the Nashville Predators has had one of the most interesting player accounts this summer, as he has been tweeting a variety of pictures from his hometown in the far north of Canada. (Land of ice and snow, even in July.)
@SteveKampfer47 Steve Kampfer of the Boston Bruins gave a look into the Bruins on their run to the Cup, but is also worth the follow for being fan-friendly.
@Stache16 George Parros is fairly new to Twitter, but is already proving that the man and his 'stache are going to be entertaining to follow.
@1Masey There's not many NHL-level goalies on Twitter yet. While Steve Mason of the Columbus Blue Jackets has not been on Twitter long, he's already proving why more goalies should be online - they're a lot of fun. His new backup, Mark Dekanich @Dexshow, spent last season showing Milwaukee Admiral fans "how to DexShow", and will now be "bringing the DexShow" to CBJ.

PRO HOCKEY PLAYERS -- AHL / ECHL / EUROPE / OTHER
@GeffMan47 Bobby Goepfert, goalie - most recently with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL)/Florida Everblades (ECHL), Goepfert might best be known for his December 2010 goalie fight which made a splash on the Puck Daddy blog. However, Goepfert is a fun and entertaining follow, between talking hockey, chirping with other players, live "Goepardy" tweeting, or his "twogging" (Twitter blogging).
@MikeMcKenna56 Newly signed to the Ottawa Senators organization, McKenna is very personable, interacts with his fans, and tweets frequently.
@teach_lights31 Tyson Teichmann, goaltender of the Belleville Bulls (OHL) has one of the best bios, and his humor doesn't stop there. Keep an eye on him as a solid future NHL prospect.
@MichaelMurphy31 Another goaltender, Murphy is part of the Charlotte Checkers/Carolina Hurricanes system. Solid tweeter and chirps with fellow AHLers.
@RGrimaldi23 Rocco Grimaldi, 2011 draftee of the Florida Panthers, is chatty, positive and fun. Dude is new to the pro hockeytwittersphere and already tweeting like a boss.
@chriswhitley83 Chris Whitley of the Dundee Stars (Scotland) is one of the few European-league players who is on Twitter, but he's social and chatty. Gives his perspective on the Euro league; also, he's a goalie.
@HP4K_Dustin Dustin Sproat of the Cincinnati Cyclones founded HP4K (Hockey Players For Kids, @HP4K). Solid tweeter, but also leading a cause that's worth supporting.
@JeremySmith30 Jeremy Smith is between the pipes for the Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville Predators system); last season, he and @Dexshow shared goaltender duties in MKE. What can I say, goalies are some of the best Twitterers... you can't follow enough of them.
@zackphillips7 Zack Phillips, new draftee for the MN Wild, is new to Twitter but has taken to it like a fish to water.
@MattDonovan46 Defenseman Matt Donovan is in the NY Islanders system. Tweets regularly and chats about a wide variety of things.

Go to videos. Then add ons. From there u should see a list of "channels". 1channel is great for movies and shows. The rest u can just experiment on. Then in 1channel go to movies then either search or go to featured and it will go to the latest major movies. When u click on one it will show you a list of sites that will stream it to u. Pick either the one that is highlighted or the one with the most views. It should then say. Working. And then your watching the movie

question: 1- XBMC EDEN installed 2- Fusion added as a source

Now I have to go to "install from zip file" which basically allows me to install any of the available repositories. My question is how do I know which one to install? For example, how do I know where the aforementioned "Sports Devil" add-on is?

Imagine it more like having a tv remote really. You place all these add-ons and you just search for whatever right from there. As mentioned also, no annoying ads, popups..Also, since it's not just movies(there's add-ons for music, youtube, porn and so on)..It's basically all your entertainment stuff in one place.

btw folks, I use to have HTPC setup at home many years ago using some satellite software/hardware + media server software, got fed up with it eventually and just got rid of it.
Lately I've been amazed by performance of micro computers and bought RasberryPi to play with a bit.
Here is my input on this - amazing little thing capable of running XBMC with all plugins (they all written on Python scripts so no prob there as long as Python is there) , it has following ports SD card,2 USB, LAN, HDMI, RCA, SPIF, and microUSB as power input.
I did connect to it 2G SD with installation script, connected LAN to it, HDMI to TV and after 15 min whole thing was up and running. Used Roger box usb port as power source for it :)
It capable of receiving your TV remote signal via HDMI pass thru so no keyboard needed but it is up to you.
Sometimes SD cards are failing and you dont see any message on TV so I would suggest to switch to RCA to see low res messages.
Software I used is Raspbmc
There are micro devices on the market based on android but I dont like wifi only option for networking and rumored limited HD playback capabilities.

I've been reading the FAQ for XBMC and I'm still a little unclear on all of the benefits. I have an Apple TV 2 plugged into my receiver. I download video, pop it into iTunes and stream to my TV from my desktop.

It seems I would need a laptop/computer plugged into my TV/receiver (like I do with my Apple TV) to take advantage of XBMC. Correct? Other than being able to stream content (instead of downloading first like I do now), why would I dig having XBMC?

Jailbreak your ATV 2 and download the program along with the wizard hub. Beyond jailbreak the device itself you wont require a laptop for it.

Trust me you wont regret it.

well, first your downloading the movie... sometimes a hit and miss in terms of quality, seeders etc. Second you are downloading it and now have 700mb (no big deal) or 4 gb etc. Third, sometimes you have to convert said download to play on itunes.

Or you pay for a movie from itunes, and sure get great quality but you pay for it.

With XBMC, you search for what you want.. hit play. If the quality sucks you stop it. if the movie sucks you say oh well and it's not on your hard drive, its gone.

Thats really the benefit.

Never had an issue with my phone or Ipad. I use my ipad to stream onto my ATV but I have a newer version and am still waiting for a jailbreak.

If you do have an issue you can just do a hard reset with your ATV to clear it but from what I have heard and read about it no one had any issues.

Nope, there's no jailbreak yet. There was a report today that it's close to release and that they are just waiting for Apple to release ios 6.1, but as of right now, not much you can do.

and no, you can't **** it up. if anything somehow goes wrong, you can always restore your ipad through itunes.

Good to know. I had an iphone that was jailbroken and could not be restored. It was jailbroken and an ipad baseband was installed, so that meant there was no way it could ever be restored to factory settings. I like knowing I can always go back to out-of-the-box settings.

I still don't understand how to jailbreak the ATV2, but I'm old and it will take me a few tutorials to wrap my head around it.

I'm the Atari generation, who now own consoles, build our own PC's....I think that if you grew up with at least some tech you don't have the fear out of ignorance, like the old lady at Foodland who still can't figure out debit.

It's been a few years since I did it. Someone who has done it more recently here should be able to help out.

Just a couple of warnings:

1- Whenever I jailbroke the iPhone, it was no longer as smooth as it was out of the box. Somewhat noticeable but not enough for me to want the stock OS.
2- On one particular occasion the phone just died on me. I was charging the phone and suddenly the phone asked to be connected to a charger (you know the USB plug logo that shows up on the screen). After that I couldn't do anything to fix it. Even took it to the Apple store and they couldn't fix it. No one knew what the problem was so they replaced it for me. I don't think it had anything to do with the jailbreak but I thought you might want to know.

my iphone4 has been jailbroken for 99% of the 2+ years that I've owned it and I've never had these problems.

as for how to jailbreak it, you have to make sure your firmware version is 5.1.1 or older as ios6 still hasn't been jailbroken.

Any gamers in here?

If you are a Diablo fan, there is a F2P open beta going on right now for a game called Path of Exile. http://www.pathofexile.com/
It reminds me of Diablo 2. I`ve been going about a week now, and as far as I can see the micro transactions are cosmetic or let you have a bigger inventory...but no super weapons or armour and the like for sale.

I am having a blast. It`s a loot-fest, and the skill tree is like nothing you have EVER seen before...I guarantee that. You upgrade gems, not weapons, so you can move them along as you lvl up, with a crafting system that`s simple and complex if you want it to be.

Free, great looking game. The open beta lets you get to level 111 I think. Hours of lost time.

PoE = amazing

The only thing I dislike about PoE right now is limited talent resets. With a talent system that's so complex and big being able to reset all my talents would be amazing. The refund points is not nearly enough.

You need to do a lot of research on your talent spec before hand otherwise if you mess up a lot you're pretty much stuck making a whole new character.

Bleedsblue&white
02-17-2013, 12:54 PM
Since it's open Beta I'm experimenting. I would think you will be able to transfer your character once beta is over, but games like this I like to try a few classes, and as we've been saying, the skill tree is so ****ing huge...I sometimes lvl up, grab a coffee, spend ten minutes just figuring out where I'm going to take things. Gem are starting to add up as well, that's another incredibly robust system.

I save gems and rings at least, not so many weapons, but I have a few things. I play a lot of solo so I am a tend to be a few lvls above the monster so I can handle the hordes, I find that works best and I don't have to worry about people stealing during instances.

I'm thinking of getting rid of cable. The only think I would miss is live hockey, football and basketball. I know I could get a U.S. IP and then buy NHL Gamecentre to get my team's games on my Apple TV. But, if I do the same for the other sports, I'm not really saving money. Is there anywhere that streams live sports in HD quality? When I last used ATDHE years ago, it was pretty crappy quality. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With Roku you can get apps to watch Hockeystreams, NHL Gamecenter, MLB.TV, or ballstreams. Add Netflix and torrenting to that, and you're set. Football will be tricky though, I don't think there is anything cheap /free of high quality out there for streaming. I subscribed to the NFL online package for one season and it was not cheap.

Yeah. Hockeysteams is like $12 a month. Same for the basketball service. I'm not sure about the Gamecentre though. MLB.TV is $20 / month or so. It's possible to get all the sports you want for a reasonable cost. Football is a little dicey though as I said. You can get an HDTV antennae though and get OTA stuff.....won't get the MNF games though. Nice part about hockeysteams is they stream the UFC PPVs which makes the subscription worth it in itself if you are a MMA fan.

Habspatrol
06-23-2014, 07:34 PM
Yeah $12 a month for the hockey is nothing... won't bother with basketball. Would like to get football... but not too big of a deal.

I may look into the antenna depending on what OTA is.

Deckie007
06-23-2014, 07:37 PM
With OTA (Over the Air - think HD rabbit ears), you'll get your local channels, like CBC, Global, CTV, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX etc. You'd actually get a few channels for football, but if you want to watch Da Bears, for example, you'll be out of luck if they aren't on TV locally.

Yeah that's more or less where I'm at with it. If the Leafs are competitive, I'll consider doing what I do with the Jays and just pay for the official online streaming service when they drop rates closer to the end of the year and then buy the playoff package.

I would really like to see the leagues sort their shit out and start offering team specific packages for a reasonable price. I don't need all the games, and I have little desire to pay for all the games. I need all the Leaf games. Ask me to pony up 99 bucks for that and I'd strongly consider it if every game was HD.

Yep. Even if HD grey market/illegal streams were readily available, if the NHL actually offered a reasonably priced Leaf streaming option, I'd jump all over that.

The catch, as always, would be for the NHL to not continue to tell in-market streamers that their options are:

1) Sign up for an expensive, bloated cable TV/Satellite package.
2) Go **** themselves.

I fear that there are too many cable TV providers involved in NHL ownership for this to happen anytime soon, though. They're all still hanging on to the fantasy that they're somehow going to be able to blackmail the cord cutters into signing back on to their obsolete business model.

I guess what kills me though, is that MLB is way deeper into the pockets of cable companies than the NHL is, and MLB.TV is offered in app form with every game available for 109 bucks. You don't need cable, and the cost is reasonable. Wait until mid way through the season and they start throwing pretty crazy offers at you. 39 bucks for July onward, I paid 9.99 a few weeks ago to snag the rest of the season on MLB.TV

All of this while regional sports networks are paying billions of dollars for local broadcasting rights.

I've personally never heard of it, and I try to keep up on cordcutting techniques. Anyone offering a lifetime subscription strikes me as a bit dodgy. There's a lot of good guides on the internet for picking a VPN that will suit your needs. Some VPN's are better for downloading purposes and some are better for things like viewing netflix without international border restrictions (which can be tricky sometimes as Netflix has started banning VPN IP addresses...to which the VPN's just change their IP so they and netflix and go around in circles until the heat death of the universe...but it's annoying for the user in the downtime between Netflix doing the IP ban and the VPN switching IP's)

It's tough to deal with this all if you don't have a baseline knowledge of how it works.

Yeah, I should probably avoid it. Seems too good to be true and I have no idea how any ****ing thing works.

I'd definitely dodge this one you linked, though there is a way of doing it relatively simply. Subscribe to a VPN that has an option to pay a bit extra for a private IP (with a regular VPN subscription, you use the same IP as everyone else on the service, which is how netflix identifies the VPN...they see a shit ton of connections from the same IP address and block that IP address....if you pay for a private IP though, only you're using it...don't use this for downloading though)

The cost is a bit higher (7-10 bucks a month usually) than for regular VPN access, but it would solve that problem. The question is whether access to US Netflix is worth the extra 7-10 bucks a month more than your subscription already costs you.

Preston_Mizzi
09-20-2016, 10:53 AM
Meh, it's not a mandatory purchase. To be honest, the ONLY reason I considered it was that I make American cash on my side job and I've had a really out of control good year. I hate converting USD to Canadian with the bank rates ****ing me over, so I've been dropping it in my RRSP but I kind of ran out of room. So I've been trying to buy as much with USD as possible.

But this TNT Stream Unblocker seems a bit sketchy for my liking (who the **** offers 93% discounts, anyway? It can't be worth even close to the $600 that it claims). So I'll pass. If I crave US Netflix in the future I'll go for it but meh, I'm fine now.

I used to do all the FTA satellite stuff and whatever other cheats I could. Now I'm mostly "legit." I still download some movies and cable shows but I have a satellite subscription and Netflix. I do you a VPN to get Hulu... I have a legit subscription though. So I'm like 65% legit now. I enjoy the reliability and ease of doing it this way.

Private IP addresses through a VPN seem like a pretty steady solution for this. There's simply no way that Netflix is going to start going connection by connection looking for dodgy IP addresses. When they're seeing a ton of connections from the same IP, it's easy to find 3000 connections on the same day from the same address and know something is up.

I'm going to have to try this.
