Voted yes. Think we'll be better than Ottawa and the 4th placed Metro team.

7 people voted already and I'm the only one who posted my vote? Interesting.

We are in tough with the way we are playing.

I want us in the playoffs, but we need a couple guys to be the players we know they are. Bolland coming back will be big for us as well.

The rest of the East is so shitty....Leafs will be in with points to spare.

I voted yes and I am VERY comfortable with that. We are in a pretty lengthy slump here and are still 7th in the East. The team will get healthier, they will get away from HBO cameras, and they will get better overall at executing randy's game plan. The East is also not a very strong conference from 8th place on. I don't see the Leafs missing out.

One of Ottawa, Columbus, Philly, Rangers, or Devils would have to pass us. I think we're better than all of those clubs personally.

Does PTBNL know about this poll?

Without a doubt, yes. We're not getting passed by the Sens or any of the Metro teams. In fact, I'll actually be surprised if we don't finish as one of the top three seeds in the Atlantic.

Leaning towards no, with the only hope being that the east continues to suck dick. They have simply played like a bottom 5 team in the NHL this year, and the results are finally starting to show. Hopefully they get their act together, but even with a shitty east, they're going to have to win some games eventually. They'll obviously lose again tomorrow, but after that the schedule lightens up a BIT. The Pens game is going to a big one, and could hopefully start a turnaround.

I think our record lately is a perfect storm of poor play compounded by a tough stretch of schedule and injuries at a position we were already weak at.

...and yet we're still in the playoffs, despite being pretty shitty all year besides goaltending and powerplay. In the West the Leafs would have only a slim chance of making the postseason, but in this conference there are more weak teams, and the Leafs will get healthier in the next while.

I think we'll still make it. our goalies are good which is huge in our favour.

comfortably.

even at this low point, we would have to lose a bunch more games in a row to fall out of playoff position.

I wonder where we'd be if our tenders had regular .900 save %.

I am going to go out on a limb and say we make it but in the bottom spots.

Unless nonis makes some drastic changes to the defence, I still see this team being totally inept in terms of personnel in the back end.

At the rate were going I think we miss the playoffs, too much is wrong with this team:
- Giving up 35-50 shots a game and only mustering up around 20-24 for
- Penalty kill allows 2 goals against a game
- The amount of injuries on this team
- Absurd amount of turnovers and time spent in our own end
- Lack of effort
- Lack of intensity
- Lack of maturity
- Inability to hold leads

The only good things the Leafs have going for them are goaltending and the powerplay but we cannot rely on just those things to get us to the dance, at this rate we'll likely be out of the playoffs by the winter classic.

Comfortably, more so because the bad teams in the East are really bad, but it won't be down to the wire this year.

This team is easily a playoff team when healthy. The Leafs will make the playoffs.

I voted no. We certainly don't deserve to be in the playoffs at this point. Just a lazy team.

Leafs will make it. Saturday will be their low point but their Mercury is in retrograde and the stars will be aligned starting next Tuesday.

I really, really, really want to meet the Habs in the playoffs. I realize a series win is not a given, and that I'd get mercilessely heckled at work should we lose (even a single game) but man...that would be the most fun ever.

Could have happened last playoffs had the Leafs actually decided to show up for Game 82. If we beat the Habs, then Boston leap frogs into 2nd, Montreal falls down to 4th and we face them in the playoffs in Round 1. I would have loved to see a Habs/Leafs playoff matchup, the atmosphere would have been electric with both fan bases, and you know that whenever these two teams face off its a close game most of the time, of course I'd root for Toronto to win though.

I voted no from the start mostly due to the fact that Carlyle is not willing to adapt to this team's style and is trying to force them to play in a way that they just cannot do. He should be pushing 3 scoring lines and 1 checking line; McClement has no business playing on the 3rd line of this team

If the Leafs miss the playoffs heads will roll. Starting with Nonis.

Agreed, I think Nonis will be the 1st to go if he doesn't do something/anything to fix this. He knows this team is collapsing yet he's sitting back idly doing squat, yes I understand due to the cap its hard to make trades these days but for him to still stand by Carlyle after 2 months of horrible hockey is beyond me. The first thing Nonis should be doing is firing him, it's clear he's lost the room and that should be a big red flag that its time to make changes.
