Better than cluttering up the olympic thread with random hockey talk...

Should be a cakewalk if Drew Doughty can stop icing the puck every time he touches it.

What a waste having Carter and Kunitz with Crosby

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. Even worse when Sidney's personal Rob Brown is ****ing up a PP unit.

I really believe that this chemistry shit is vastly overblown. Isn't it funny how talented hockey players seem to find it with each other almost immediately? JVR & Kessel are a good example. People talk about their chemistry, and it's there, but it was there from almost their first shift together last year. It's not something that took time to develop.

Bergeron is good. The only guys that skated that period up front were Tavares, Toews, Bergeron and Benn.

St. Louis, Tavares, Benn and Toews need a bigger roles. **** Marleau, Kunitz and Carter. And you have to have Duchene and PK's speed in there on the big ice.

leafman101

Should be:

Benn-Crosby-St. Louis

Marleau-Kunitz

I don't know if Babcock makes all the decisions but not having Duchene and Subban out there was pretty stupid imo. As most have said it already, Carter has a pretty good shot but that's about it. Duchene is quick, skilled and has a nice shot(same with PK).

Canada always plays with more baggage than the Americans or other teams (though Russia playing on home soil has fair share of pressure too) ... I dunno if that's why we looked so tentative.

And it's NOR we're playing, and I can't even name 1 NHL player on their team.

At least Russia played a semi-respectable Slovenia team today.

We'd better get our acts together soon, or else it will be very embarrassing in a hurry.

that game wasn't even close. canada finally figured out the bigger ice about 5 minutes into the second and played like they had a powerplay for basically the rest of the game.

i thought the guys who looked the worst early on were perry and getzlaf, who were trying to play the dump and chase. once they realized that you can't do that on the wide ice, though, it was game over.

the only thing i was a bit disappointed about was the lack of shots on net. especially in the second period. they had norway pinned in their end for something like 5-6 minutes straight at one point and i don't think they registered a shot on net.

I could be wrong but it seems to me that you're still making excuses Cork. Sure you say the team performs poorly in afternoon games, but what I'm reading is that the team isn't as bad as their record states, it's just those damn afternoon games that are making them look worse.

You can psycho-analyze my post all you want - but I have placed the blame solely on the team. They are consistently getting shelled in afternoon games - far worse than any other breakdown of games you could imagine.

A team is generally as good as their record indicates (shootouts skew that, but still).

I don't think you've said all season anything that's wrong with the team specifically. We've heard about schedules, shootouts, afternoon games, officials, coaching decisions, etc. But I don't think you've ever actually criticized the team or the players. It's all extraneous stuff.
