no more salmons please.

and ross has just gotta lose his inner bitch.

****ing guy.

you aren't going to close out the nets playing like this

CaptainBolduke
05-04-2014, 02:38 PM
The experience of the Nets should be a major boost for them in this game.

Hopefully the more athletic Raps can pound this out.

Jeremy

I have a lot of faith in this team. Keep playing.

Derozan and Lowry need to wake up or we are done

soco22
05-04-2014, 02:47 PM
Hard to play defense when everyone has so many fouls. Lowry can't take a charge anymore incase it's considered a block. Everyone is afraid to foul.

soco22
05-04-2014, 02:49 PM
you aren't going to close out the nets playing like this

I agree.

Will actually be more surprised if we win.

CaptainBolduke
05-04-2014, 02:50 PM
Experience and the officiating are hard to overcome for such a young team.

CaptainBolduke
05-04-2014, 02:52 PM
All in all this isn't going terribly. The Raps are a very good 4th Q team.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 02:56 PM
Derozan and Lowry need to wake up or we are done

derozan is playing well. they're doubling him high so it's hard to penetrate and he's responded by finding guys for all sorts of open looks.

the problem is ross and salmons missing their 3s.

Leafin'
05-04-2014, 02:57 PM
We're getting f*cked on the fouls. As usual.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 02:58 PM
meh the raps' d has been awful. can't blame the refs for that.

JaysCyYoung
05-04-2014, 03:00 PM
The Raptors are going to lose this game.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:00 PM
the nets have also hit a lot of really tough shots, and the raps have missed at least 7 or 8 wide open looks.

Killer93
05-04-2014, 03:01 PM
Stop blaming refs; our best players were no shows in first half; need to turn it around

Leafin'
05-04-2014, 03:03 PM
The Raptors are going to lose this game.

GTFO!

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:04 PM
they really haven't been. lowry and derozan have been fine. look at all the looks they've gotten their teammates.

salmons has missed 2 wide open threes. ross missed another. all three of val's attempts were wide open. he missed all three.

that's why they're down 8 right now. your support shooters can't miss their wide open looks with that sort of frequency.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:05 PM
the raps got away from the amir-pierce matchup in the second quarter. get bakc to that. pierce can't stop johnson when he has his back to the basket.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:06 PM
and casey has a tough decision to make with val. we saw him be a difference maker early in the series but his game has gone south and today he has been a liability.

when he's on he gives them an enormous advnatage because the nets don't really have an answer to him, but at the same time, you can't play him if he's playing like he did in that half.

soco22
05-04-2014, 03:27 PM
This doesn't look good...need our depth guys to pick it up.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:35 PM
ross has to hit that shot. i mean, he was wide open and he was too soft on it.

that's inexcusable.

Jeremy
05-04-2014, 03:35 PM
6 pt game. Good job boys.

CaptainBolduke
05-04-2014, 03:36 PM
Ross gets too much floor time. He doesn't do anything except miss 3s.

Jeremy
05-04-2014, 03:37 PM
Some extra mojo for the Raps!

Open or not, it's not that easy to make shots. Esp. when you have no confidence like Ross. He shouldn't be playing. Ride Paterson.

Killer93
05-04-2014, 03:42 PM
Yep Raps digging their own grave; Nets are 2 for 13 in quarter and we trail by 10

mbow30
05-04-2014, 03:43 PM

it should be an easy shot for a guy who shoots 40+ from 3.

CaptainBolduke
05-04-2014, 03:46 PM
I could be wrong, but I don't think it's that high for him in the playoffs. He's been pretty bad.

soco22
05-04-2014, 03:56 PM
Only good news of third quarter is our guards didn't take too many fouls

Killer93

axlsalinger
05-04-2014, 04:01 PM
Raps have played like shit at both ends of the court, but still, down 8 points with 8:00 to go. Still plenty of time, just got to D the **** up and get Lowry-DD rolling on offense. Game's still here for the taking.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:02 PM
that's gotta be a foul on KG. he threw his hip right into lowry. (not to mention the illegal screen on vasquez here they gave V the foul).

basketball is the worst.

JackBurton
05-04-2014, 04:04 PM
I'll never complain about NHl refs after this. And they do their job on ice.

Jeremy
05-04-2014, 04:06 PM
Still time.

axlsalinger
05-04-2014, 04:06 PM
That was a foul on KG.

Amir fouled out, so nice to have Patterson waiting in the wings. Gotta re-sign this guy.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:09 PM
the raps aren't responding well to the nets attack up high. it has totally disrupted their ball movement. this isn't a team that has won on iso's, it's a team that has won with its ball movement.

of course, all those missed wide open looks early haven't helped anything.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:10 PM

It's Lowry Time.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:11 PM
another tough shot.

the raps D has forced the nets to take some really tough shots, and they've made some pretty ridiculous (johnson with 2 or 3, pierce hit two real tough ones early and thornton).

and hayes... come the F on.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:11 PM
and then johnson with the deep 3.

gotta give the nets creidt. th ey've made tough plays.

mbow30
05-04-2014, 04:16 PM
way to go val.

soco22
05-04-2014, 04:19 PM
Said this before on this board. This is why I find nba basketball so hard to get into. Refs just take over games to the point where it's not fun to watch.

Will kinda watch the raptors, but hard to see myself ever becoming a nba fan until something is done to make it more like the NCAA.

mbow30

Leafin'
05-04-2014, 04:51 PM
Raps did not play well today until the last 5 or so mins. Defence was pretty bad. Nets kept making shots.

Awful play call on the last one there.

Devastating.

axlsalinger
05-04-2014, 04:53 PM
Yeah, the refereeing was B.S. but the Raps still had the game in their hands, down 1 with 6 seconds left. At least it didn't end on a bullshit call, that was just good D by Brooklyn.

wiseguy1
05-04-2014, 04:53 PM
Lowry was the only player who played like a champion, so the Nets triple teamed him ...duh, not rocket science. If other players would have stepped up in this game, maybe they could have kept the Nets guessing a bit on the last play.

Yeah just like they did this entire season. 0-4 against Brooklyn. Now of course that doesnt mean much now but they usually play tight games and i think Brooklyn's depth will be again the difference maker.

Metalleaf
05-04-2014, 05:06 PM
Brooklyn won this series because they had more experience than the Raps. That won't be the case vs. Miami.

Miami would destroy every East team.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see if Lowry stays or not.

PKForce81

Yeah but only partially Metal. Brooklyn players were taking some really bad shots as well(they were fortunate in some cases) so you would think that their experience would teach otherwise...I just take a look at the fact a guy like Brook Lopez wasn't even playing(injury) and they had to go with Garnett who's not even close what he used to be(some horrible shots taken, easy rebounds missed...Lopez on the other hand was so huge for them last year. Anyways, other guys stepped up.

Also, does Val usually start for the Raps? Based on this series i just don't think he's that good. Easy layups missed, free shots missed..He didn't look like starting material.

axlsalinger
05-04-2014, 05:31 PM
He's 21 years old, and had a great season. Some tough moments in his first playoff series, but he is most definitely starting material at C. Especially in the East.

Metalleaf
05-04-2014, 05:36 PM
This is a young team, with only Lowry having any playoff experience as well as a lousy Salmons.

Pronger84
05-04-2014, 05:40 PM
I'm no basketball fan but even I watched today's game, was on the edge of my seat the entire 4th quarter. The Raptors have nothing to be disappointed about nor do their fans, this team put up a hell of fight against a much experienced team... if they continue to play like they did this series I think a lot of good things are ahead for the Raps.

Leafin'
05-04-2014, 06:06 PM
Yea, the league stands to make more money with a Nets-Heat series.

In all honesty, the Nets are a better matchup against the Heat. Raps would in all likelihood have gone home in 5, while the Nets might take this 6 or 7.

Paul Pierce is a stud.

I am dissapoint.

Hate being a Toronto sports fan. The ending was apropos...great play by Ross and shit play by Lowry. Seems right. Oh well, we weren't winning a thing against the Heat. Still hurts like hell though. Need to get our Vet swingman and another bigman and we'll be right there again, especially if it's someone who "gets calls".

Interesting breakdown of how Casey ****ed it up at the end.

I think Masai looks at this team and signs Lowry but says this team needs a coach to take them to the next level.

The biggest offseason need is probably a guy like Vince that will just get all the calls based on rep.

Crazy that two guys who can't play anymore are given the benefit of the doubt like that.

Care to wager Miami kills the Nets?

You seem to forget Miami was sitting D-Wade for 1/3 of the season so he'd be less banged up for the playoffs. Had he played the Heat would have won the East.

Nets are not a match for Miami.

I actually think the younger legs of the Raps would have given them a bit more trouble.

Remember again, Miami is rested while the older Nets were taken to seven games.

We thought this would work in our favour, but it didn't. I was never convinced that this would be a serious issue for the Nets. They are still well conditioned pro athletes.
