The Ottawa Senators got down to business ahead of a busy draft weekend, signing two of their top youngsters in Calder Trophy finalist Mark Stone and Mika Zibanejad on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Stone, who had 26 goals and led all rookies in scoring with 64 points, agreed to a three-year extension with an average annual value of $3.5 million. He will make $2.25 million next season, followed by $3.75 million in 2016-17 and $4.5 million during the final year of the deal.
Zibanejad, who scored 20 goals and had 46 points this season, agreed to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2.625 million.
