OT: Movies/TV Shows

Still hasn't done anything with Yunkai (season 3) and Meereen (season 4).

Seems on pace. What is being omitted?

Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't Ben Brown Plumb and Strong Belwas be introduced by now?....Or is it later?....maybe the show isn't bothering?

The always seem to introduce charaters late so they do not have to pay them for a few episodes. Sure he could have been introduced last episode but he doesnt do anything until after Yunkai and for Meereen.

Im guessing Strong Belwas is ignored...or his role might join with another character....or delay his introduction. Might change him to being introduced at Meereen as a pit fighter?

She is going to need something for the boredom that is book 4/5.

I find Danys story the worst so I do not pay as much attention to it. The big introductions are there...just like with other minor characters they seem to either expand the role or cut the role.

for me the worst stories are that of Bran and Rickon....and i'm not keen on Samwell either...

I actually loved Bran in book 5. Before that I was very meh.

I do not mind Sam...mostly because I like the Far North stuff (perhaps that is why Bran get more interesting to me).

Arya is my favourite though...and lots of people find her story boring.

I really need to read book 3 again. Basically season 3 episode 8 through season 4 (ie: the last half of book 3) seemed to happen in a matter of minutes.

Even so far this season (spoilers for the show)....

Old Bear dies
John joins the Wildlings
Jaime loses his hand
Bear pit
Arya/Brotherhood
Unsullied
Sansa/Imp wedding

Im probably missing a bunch more...but in half a book (the boring half...) more happens than in books 4 and 5 combined.

I think the entire Sansa story is much better in the books. From her trying to get out of kings landing to the shock of marrying the Imp.
But that just jumps starts some amazing events.

the problem with the sansa story is that she's probably the worst actor on the show.

you miss the guy that plays orlando bloom playing jon snow?

but ya...she isn't that great but I do not think that takes away from her story....they do a poor job of reminding the audience how horrible things are for her

i dunno. for that character, she's doing fine. she's a china doll. a dishrag. she's meek and does what she's told. not a lot you can do with a character like that. i thought that was a very flat, pitiable character in the book, and thats what comes off on the screen.

best actor/casting choice is charles dance as tywin lannister. always LOVED that actor, LOVE that character, and he's playing it brilliantly. he's riveting on the screen.

You're just upset you didn't get to see a teenager get naked.

That's a show that plenty of people I respect seem to love, but it looks so shoddy when I see clips of it that I could never be bothered getting into it.....it feels like it would be a poor man's attempt at an HBO show.

I like the show Nurse Jackie.

I also saw The Great Gatsby on the weekend. I could see Zeke throwing parties like Gatsby and JCY wanting to dress like him all the time.

Yeah, a lot of people I know were right into it. I watched seasons 1 & 2...thought it was okay but didn't understand the raging wood so many people had for it, watched part of the season 3 and then "nope"d it. I've never been one of the biker sub culture to begin with, and when it started going all cliche/soap opera storyline on me, I checked out.

That's exactly what it's like. Feels like a bad 80's Canadian show at times. ridiculous gun fights with bazooka's and shit being fired and nobody ever dying.
