OT: Food & Drink Thread - Where to Go, What to Eat, etc.

I once had Triglycerides close to 1000. Yeah, that's when I knew I had to stop eating my own cooking...

I changed life's menu. I too have lost 22 lbs in the past 3 months. Feeling so much better.
Good job. I lost it pretty fast. My wife said wait another 3 months to go for test at 6 months, she wasn't convinced everything is back to normal but i was pretty sure ☺

Bought a new BBQ a couple weeks ago. I'd always owned cheap ones before, like $149 on special. Decided to buy a Broil King this time, almost bought a Weber but changed my mind at the last second.

Been doing a lot of grilling and using the rotisserie... I don't know if it's the BBQ or I'm just getting better but damn am I loving this thing, and the food has turned out great so far. Not super high end by any means, but definitely the best BBQ I've ever had by a mile.

bourbon fan here but I didn't mind northern harvest as a change of pace. Goes down easy for a whiskey.

Good pick.

Broil Kings are nice. Mine is 8-9 yrs old, still going strong and was worth the extra coin, no doubt.

For sure... I've been saying for a couple years that I would buy a better quality grill next time. So far it's well worth the money. And really... not that $700 is pocket change, it really isn't that bad. In 4-5 years I'll probably upgrade to a $1,200 model. Almost got it this time. I plan on keeping this one really clean so I should be able to sell it for like $300.

Had a Broil King. Very good machine.

Now have a Weber. They're great machines.

One day I'll buy a Big Green Egg.

I convinced my sister to get a Green Egg -- it's great after you accept the sticker shock.

My dream is a wood burning thingy.

I bought a similar model 5 years ago and it's running great still. I love BBQing.

Next thing I'm going to venture into is smoking, but I've never done it & have no idea how any of it works. Second problem is, I don't really have anywhere to put it.

Yah, smokers are really interesting but I dunno if I can commit the time.

Busy family on the run, I need BTUs and I need 'em fast.

Sweet!! Nice to know it should last awhile.

I think I'll eventually get a charcoal grill and a smoker.

They're just great to work with. Ancient Chinese technology...

Charcoal (which gives you a good variety of flavour profiles) plus heats up fast and stays hot. Can also be used as a smoker. Well designed and smart attachments. Kind of like how the old Macs were once a cult alternative to Windows based machines.

Also built like a tank.
