Stelio Mattheos is Recovering From Cancer

I thought this deserved a thread of its own.

Stelio Mattheos was diagnosed with testicular cancer 2 days after the Checkers wrapped up the Calder Cup. He had 1 testicle removed and has completed multiple courses of chemo. He’s expected to recover fully but will miss training camp as he completes treatments and is cleared for physical activity.

Good luck kid. We’re all rooting for you.

Jeez! I had no idea this was going on. Poor guy.

Here's hoping for a full recovery for Mattheos ... don't even care about hockey right now.

Mattheos is practicing with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Once he’s cleared, he should be headed to Charlotte.
