Habs News & Notes: Regular Season 2019-2020

I dislike Drouin but he's averaged 77 games played in his three years prior to this one

I stand corrected. I remembered his first season when he broke his thumb and really struggled after that but looks like he only missed a few games because of it.

That's a good enough reason to move him this summer. There is no rush so you only move him if there is an offer that makes sense.

We should be able to land a legit top 4 D

I can see 1 other top player moved out as well . I don't think Nero wants to pay everyone in their decline years

The one thing I liked from his awful press conference was when he stated that he'll discuss extension deals with the players he wants to extends and then will take action based on that.

It's a big summer for him, he needs to take a stance.

I miss Markov.

Watching the crap we’re watching now makes you appreciate just how good he was.

I like that approach

Provide a fair contract and see what happens

You cant just give Gally 8 years @ 6-7 mil and cave as an example

Contract has to make sense for the team

It's time to move on from him this summer, even if his value is not presently optimal.
Pretty much Hudon's last chance to prove that he deserves an NHL contract next year. Not likely he will get one anyway, Probably has to decide between AHL or Europe.

He has made over 2 million as a slug and is only 25. I am sure he can continue to make 250k a year if he stays in Laval on a minor league contract

Yup. Hudon's not an NHLer, but he's good enough to make a very good living playing pro hockey overseas or as a minor leaguer if he wants to stay in North America. No shame in that.

He seems to tear it up in the AHL so I'd say, if you can convince him to stay to play there, it will help the Rocket be better and hope to have a good year next year. If we want to teach our prospect a winning mentality, we need to start wining in laval.

The Lahti Pelicans have loaned forward Jesse Ylönen to the Laval Rocket for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
