Re: Lineup Your Lineups - 2019-2020

I don't understand why some people absolutely want to see 18 year olds in the NHL. I only want to see 18 year olds in the NHL if,

a- They're supremely skilled, see most top-3 picks.
    b- They're...

Re: Lineup Your Lineups - 2019-2020

    What do you mean, "how"?

Comparing them when they were both 18: Kotkaniemi is 3/4 of a foot taller, heavier, plays a more complete game, has actually played against men before, is a better player...

    Re: 2019 Free Agent Season

I'm curious about Suzuki. Prior to the OHL playoffs & Memorial Cup, I wasn't convinced about him. To me, he seems like the classic guy who looks really good against lower competition, but for...

Depends on what he's looking for. Joe Beef is a must, no matter what the circumstances are.

If it's a night for a group of people and they're not planning on being loud/boisterous, then Tuck Shop...

Re: Rumours, Innuendos and Flat out B.S.: 2018-19 Edition

It all depends what Vegas is hoping to get in return. He's been one of the top players in the KHL for a few years now and the only reason he didn't come over (and was a 7th round draft pick instead...

Sticky: Re: Les Habitants Prospects Thread

His performance at this year's WJC will give you a good idea at how close/far he is to the NHL. Unfortunately, it won't be on North American size rinks.

    In due time.

I think there's a good chance he'll be the #2 by the end of the year. But for now, I'm in no rush.

    Re: OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

    I had Santos winning 1 & 5 with Jones winning 3 & 4.

It really depends who you gave round 2 to, imo.

I was edging towards Santos, but I don't know if it's my disdain for Jon Jones or if I'm...

Re: Habs Sign Nick Cousins to one year, $1M deal

The amount of 4th line player signings is two-fold,

1- Gives real competition at camp for the young players. Listen, if Suzuki can't beat out Cousins in camp, he doesn't deserve to be in the NHL....

    Re: 2019 Free Agent Season

That's the thing, nobody knows. He's been one of the top players in the KHL for a bit, and who knows whether it'll translate into the NHL or not.

I would take a gamble on him.
  15. Re: Habs tender five-year, $42.27M offer sheet to Sebastian Aho

I've thought about it a bunch, but... How much of it is The Charlatan doing it because it's calculated and how much of it is the owner telling him to get it done?

    Like, the Ottawa-Toronto trade....

Re: Around the League - 2019 Offseason

Maybe not. If they keep it together, Kadri's their #2. A little bit of an underwhelming #2, but not bad considering his caphit.

Last season he was, but with Soderberg & Kerfoot gone, I assumed he was going back to center. Or am I imagining things?

Re: Around the League - 2019 Offseason

Kadri will be their #3, behind McKinnon & Landeskog.

This is a definite win for Toronto in the short term for this upcoming season, but after this? They better hope they win.

Re: Around the League - 2019 Offseason

Kerfoot isn't replacing Kadri's play either.

His numbers are similar, style of play isn't.
  20. Re: Habs tender five-year, $42.27M offer sheet to Sebastian Aho

    That's very possible.

We could do what someone mentioned earlier, Suzuki + something else for Minor Leaguer X and Carolina would not match the offer sheet.

  23. Re: Habs tender five-year, $42.27M offer sheet to Sebastian Aho

At the very least, it'll put pressure on them. An offer sheet like this would never work on a team like the Leafs or NYR, they have all the money in the world.

But a team like Carolina, that may...
