nah, one thing about raymond is that he guarantees that the third line will get some offensive pressure. He's a puckhog/turnover machine in the mold of blake/grabo, but he always creates some offensive pressure, and a good amount for a 3rd line.

And Kegger is good.

And I'll say it - Bodie is kinda good too.

What can we expect from McKegg? Any good?

Are they trying him out for a Bottom-6 role? Kulemin replacement? Raymond replacement?

he's being groomed for a top-6 role, definitely.

he hasn't had the greatest start to his pro career, with eakins burying him last year as a rookie and then him getting off to a slow start this sophomore season, but after Smith and Holland were promoted, he was shifted to the #1C role, and has flourished - 21pts in his last 22gms now (after 4pts in his first 13gms). And PPG production at age 21 in the AHL definitely indicates NHL top-6 upside.

Not sure if he's ready quite yet but he's getting close.

I thought there was a chance Clarkson could get into this one, but I guess not.

I agree, Raymond is good for a 3rd line role, as long as he can keep his turnovers to a minimum. He has good speed, he can hang on to the puck as long as he has some ice, and his speed always buys him some space on a rush. He isn't a very good match with Holland but again, for 3rd line duty, he'll do.

Interesting to see McKegg gets the callup ... guess it's about time. It's taken him a while, for his development has stalled (combination of Eakin's and his own fault) but he has been hot lately.

Our top 2 lines have gotta continue to stay hot, because you know the Sens will bring their A game, and Anderson has played better as of late. The Sens are a very beatable team and it's important that we seize these points for morale and momentum.

Go Leafs Go!!!

It's only McKegg's 2nd year in the AHL.....hasn't really taken him "a while".

I like the way the Leafs are giving some of the younger guys on the Marlies a little taste of NHL experience when the opportunity arises. The seem to be spreading these opportunities around for guys who aren't quite ready.

Just checked his recent stats ... ack, he's been hot lately. Hopefully, there's a lot of Leafs 'luck' on tap.
