Canadiens visit Red Wings, go for sixth straight win

CANADIENS (13-4-1) at RED WINGS (8-3-5)

TV: CITY, RDS, FS-D

Season series: The Montreal Canadiens have won their past three games against the Detroit Red Wings, including a 2-1 overtime victory at Bell Centre on Oct. 21. David Desharnais scored the game-winner 56 seconds into the extra period.

Canadiens team scope: Montreal's power play, which had scored all of four goals in the Canadiens' first 17 games, came alive against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. The Canadiens scored three times with the extra man, and those goals made the difference in a 6-3 victory that extended their winning streak to five games. "Obviously we'd like to get the power play going like that every night, but that's not the case," said defenseman P.K. Subban, who had one of the three power-play goals that put the Canadiens up 3-0 at 6:17 of the second. "We know that there was a lot of panic and a lot of talk about it as the season started, but for us in this room, we know that we have the personnel to execute on the power play and I think that showed [Saturday]."

Red Wings team scope: Detroit is 2-0-1 entering the finale of a four-game homestand and is coming off one of its best efforts of the season, a 4-1 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday that improved its record at Joe Louis Arena to 6-1-2. The Red Wings have been getting a lot of production from their fourth line of Luke Glendening, Drew Miller and Joakim Andersson. Glendening had a goal and an assist against Chicago; Miller and Andersson each had an assist. "Some nights they've been our best line, whether it's shutting down the other teams' top lines or getting on the forecheck and just grinding teams," goaltender Jimmy Howard said, according to MLive.com.

Red Wings' Lineup:

Gustav Nyquist - Henrik Zetterberg - Johan Franzen
Justin Abdelkader - Pavel Datsyuk - Tomas Jurco
Darren Helm - Riley Sheahan - Tomas Tatar
Joakim Andersson - Luke Glendening - Drew Miller

Niklas Kronwall - Jonathan Ericsson
Kyle Quincey - Jakub Kindl
Brendan Smith - Danny DeKeyser

Well 2nd game of a back to back. Won't be easy, but I expect the boys to give us another win.

Go Habs!!

Babcock was great until he played some boring ass veterans instead of Subban at the Olympics. Price made him look good as he does MT.
