Your D corps come puck drop:

    Mete-Weber
    Kulak-Petry
    Reilly-Folin
    Juulsen

We were so close to being a respectable team.

Gotta love that fukking Alzner contract in the minors.
I am big on Mete and i really see no panicking yet except for a few posters

Me too. In fact I thought Mete had an excellent season last year. And he's still very young.

He can be moved at deadline if needed. Teams always stock up on D.

Cute. But I am simply reacting to an absolutely unnecessary signing that eats 1.5M in cap space, combined with more of the same by signing the Weals and Thompson’s of this world way too early...we might as well accept it, this GM is « ne pour un petit pain » is the expression I am looking for?

Then he gets to say I didn’t have cap space. For fukcing sure you don’t. Cuz you threw money around for losers that will be available in September for cheap if you need them.

I don't get signing Reilly either to be honest, especially at that price given the contract we gave to Kulak. But we're not even July 1st yet, hence my early comment. We need to get a top 4 left D, I'll be disappointed if we don't, the rest I don't care really.

Default Habs News & Notes: 2019 Offseason

Interesting piece of trivia from McGuire which I was unaware of: prior to acquiring Rob Ramage during the 1993 season, Habs had a deal in place to acquire Randy Ladouceur from Whalers, he refused to go to Mtl, Ramage became plan B.

Recall Serge Savard saying a while back, in 1992 Brian Bellows also said no initially when told Minny had a deal in place to send him to Habs... Savard & Corey had to fly to NY to convince him, they told Bellows he needed only commit for 3-seasons, the org would accommodate him thereafter if he didn’t want to play in Mtl.

This bit of news is Habs related, but it is also a bit OT. So mods, please feel free to move my post if it is in the wrong thread. Anyways, last night in Kelowna was the second annual NHL charity softball game led by former Hab Josh Gorges. There were a lot of current and former NHLers and many current/former Habs in attendance. Shea Weber was sure crushing it during a home run derby and I have included the link from the Official Montreal Canadiens website (they also have some other videos about the charity game).

Main thing for me was that I brought my middle son along for the game since he and I are the two hockey fans in our house. He sure had some big smiles getting his picture taken with Carey Price, Shea Weber and Brendan Gallagher!

    CapFriendly
    @CapFriendly
With Joel Armia signed to a 2 year contract at an AAV of $2.6M, we now have the #Habs with $6,544,524 in projected cap space, and a tentative roster of 24 (14F/8D/2G)

This includes Weise and Alzner who were both in the minors last season

    Agreed. He’s worth that.

Now get Lehkonen done cheaply too.

Just asked J.J. Daigneault about coaching Karl Alzner in Montreal and what he thought about Alzner spending so much time in the AHL last season. "It's one player I don't want to talk about. I'd rather just be straightforward with you." #TSN690

I guess JJ thought Alzner's play cost him his job...lol

They did. I sense a move coming now that MB knows exactly how much he can play with. Dzingel perhaps?

So if the Habs kept Shaw , they would be pretty close to the cap ceiling right now.

you have to listen to the rest of the interview, Alfieri pressed a little for more info, and there was a lot of awkward silence.
