MB is set on a team that plays at a high pace and battles for puck possession. Scherbak and Galchenyuk are not battlers. Plekanec wasn't anymore , Pacioretty didnt fight for the puck all of last season. They are all gone. So it's no coincidence the team is better 5 on 5 but not on special teams and 3 on 3. They gave up on some skill to fit their new image.
