OT: American Politics

except in my case its true.

I've never had a problem getting a family doctor until recently, and even then, I went less than six months without one.

I've never had a problem getting an appointment with my doctor when I need one. I've never had to wait overly long to see a specialist.

When I was a student out of province I had access to care, plus coverage for things like physio.

The only times that have been annoying were the times I had to wait in the ER. And even then, I think the worst was about six hours overnight when I broke my arm and wrist in a cycling accident.

So I guess I'd like to see ER wait times decrease. But otherwise, I've done well.
I'm glad it's worked out for you.

But it really isn't working as well as it should on a whole. As we all get older and need more care I'm sure we shall discover that more and more.

Only 140 people died trying to get over the Berlin Wall in the entire 30-year existence of the wall. Meanwhile, 7,216 people died crossing the US–Mexico border between 1998 and 2017. Guess which is portrayed as uniquely monstrous in world history?

You would think that losing a presidential election to an ex-reality TV host who freestyled much of his campaign would've been neoliberal Democrats' rock bottom. But nope, they sunk further by blaming Russia & embracing a conspiracy theory. Alas, reality is hard to avoid:

The Russia Investigations: An Unfinished Case Looks Weaker Than Ever

It amazes me that people still believe the special counsel is really about Russian meddling. It’s a pretext.

Pretty much the entire establishment hates Trump. The RNC tried everything to stop him, as did the DNC. He still got elected. Problem was, these elites are so completely out of touch with the mess they created, it blew up in their faces.

Trump is born and bred establishment and is letting the establishment do everything they dreamed of.

wake up.

yes. Trump has lived his entire life intertwined with the political establishment, like his daddy before him.

Again, the RNC pulled everything it could to stop him from getting the nomination and the DNC/Clinton campaign poured over a half a billion to stop him. Now, all but the most craven careerists are working to unseat him.

No idea why you're pointing out that he has been part of the establishment. In other news, water is wet.

The point I was making, which zeke would rather ignore, is that despite all that ... he won the election. Putting aside the delusion that Putin did it for him, why was that? He should have been easy to beat.

that's crazy that the dems tried to beat the republicans in the election, and that the other gop candidates tried to win the primary.

the gop establishment had been covering and protecting him the whole way, as he gives them free reign to pursue everything they've always wanted to do.

this is exactly why bothsidesim is so dangerous - it leads you into complete nonsensical arguments.

the trumps have been in bed with the political elite their whole lives.

You think those elite are enjoying Trump as their president? lol!

Did he pander to those elite when running for office? His whole schtick was to attack them.

The RNC is supposed to be neutral in a primary. They were anything but. Isn't it your claim that they hired the dirt-digging spooks that you're now so fond of following?

I'd put good old fashioned redblooded American cheating before Russian intervention on my list of explanations for that.

they are running hog wild with corporate tax cuts, massive deregulation, military spending, arms sales, and stacking the courts at rates they were never able to do before.

yes, they are absolutely loving him.

what reason do you think they would have to be unhappy with him?

All signs of cheating point to the Democrats in 2016. No matter how much people want to deny it. Clinton and the DNC cheated hard, got cocky and ****ed up their own campaign. They subsequently lost. Hillary’s loss is on Hillary, nobody else.
