    Default Welcome Jordan Weal

    https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/23324/jordan-weal

    26, 5'10", 180lbs

    11 points in 47 games.

Drafted 2010 round 3 #70 overall by Los Angeles Kings

    Fast centre

Weal is a center with very good vision and playmaking ability. Works hard all over the ice and play with a lot of intensity. His lack of size can be a problem at times.

He's Mathew Peca with maybe a bit more offensive ability

    Micah Blake McCurdy:
Weal (to Montreal) is a very good defensive forward who doesn't score to speak of. Chaput (to Arizona) is a depth forward with a bad penalty difference and without any obvious strengths. Minor but clear win for Montreal.

Weren’t the Habs after Weal last season before he decided to reup with Philly?

He's fast, it's why I compared him to Peca.

When with Philly he won close to 60 percent of draws taken. Small sample but still.

    Catherine Silverman:
For Montreal fans, I dug into Jordan Weal's style of play a few weeks back. Not a great offensive finisher but one of the best neutral zone puck carriers in the league, and a face-off whiz. Good, quiet forward depth who gets the puck to the offensive zone.

Question is. If he reports to Habs do we have to send someone down?

He is reporting to the Habs, but nope, there's no roster limit anymore... Weise was called up too.

The 26-year-old Weal isn’t going to be winning the fastest-skater competition for his team any time soon. He won’t record the hardest shot, and he’s not going to deliver the big hit that brings the crowd to its feet.
    is he?

It's a miner deal. AHLer for AHLer who can be called up and help on very limited and short term visit. Nothing to write home about.

Weal was good as a Flyer. He’s not an AHL’er. He’s a solid 4th liner.

This... plus I highly doubt Hudon is here after the dust settles today. If he doesn't draw in for Drouin against TOR instead of D-Lo... he never does.
