Notwithstanding the difficulty of comparing players from different eras, I can’t imagine that Harvey was actually better than Chelios.

I don't think I've ever seen clips of Harvey, and his stats are kind of useless in rating him, but he does have 7 Norrises so he should be on an all-time team.
I would put Roy on too just because he's the most famous goalie of all time (maybe in an overrated way, like Nolan Ryan is for pitchers, but he got us the two Cups I've seen so why not).

Harvey before Chelios for sure. 7 Norris, 10 First all-star selections, 6 Cups. He revolutionized the position, was the best defensemen of his time, he was Bobby Orr before Orr came to be. There is a legitimate argument to have him about Robinson as the greatest defenseman in Habs history.

My biggest issue with Chelios is that his best years were with Chicago.

Harvey was one the first defensemen to rush the puck and control the play with his skating and passing. He led the league in scoring for D many years.

I was mostly comparing him to Orr for his ability to rush the puck and control the game with his skating, not for his offensive output. But Harvey had offense and defense, just not Orr's level of offense, you don't win 7 Norris by just playing defense.
