GDT | Game #61 | at Ducks | Friday, March 6th 2026 9:00 PM EST

You would think long shots would be the easiest thing to correct.

It has to be mental. There’s no way he’s always had that problem. He would have never been drafted
Should get Diekembe to chat with Chuck Knoblaugh

Now, I keep thinking what might have been "if only". I wasn't expecting them to be this good, or the goaltending to be this bad. With good goaltending, there's no telling how far we could have taken this.
Next year is the year . . . Even with better goaltending this team is still a year away. HuGo know that too.

Organically at least 2-3 years away:

- Fowler needs to experience the trials & tribulations of NHL G

- Hage needs to become an NHL regular and learn the 200ft game

- Redenbacher needs to cement himself as an NHL top-4 w Slavin-esque capabilities

- Beck needs to seize & become that PK specialist/ modern shutdown C

- top-6 missing a big bodied W (likely acquired externally)

There’s a lot left to be done

bingo bango bingo

turning two 1st rounders (who might be solid contributors by 2028) into Dobson was an accelerant...maybe yesterday's failed trade was a similar attempt. In any event, I suspect Hughes will take a similar swing over the summer.

I also think the possibility for something surprising is huge. The team has a lot of talent other teams covet. Roster spots are becoming scarce and zero percent of our top talent is even close to approaching retirement

So we'll see...

I hope Fowler works out because I don't want to be stuck in that Oilers infinite loop of bad golatenders

Bingo but after next year with expiring contracts , if Dach can stay healthy and be a 40-50 point player ....huge bonus

We do not have a power forward in the system that can play the top line aside from Slaf and that’s only since games that he feels like playing that way. Tuch or Wilson would be very good adds.

Two late tying goals because they couldn't tie up two big bodies in front of the net, Kreider and Anders Lee.
Ducks are 1 top 4 and a few depth forwards away from true contender

Nobody has Senneke , Gauthier , Carlsson , Mac and LaCombe as 5 young horses
