Why would injury be a risk? Empty net situations aren't inherently dangerous.

Waaaaay too many games left to worry about that. Plus it was much more important to lock down a lead.

Meh, up 2, I would have him out there. I also don't think he's bad defensively. He's pretty good at stick checking.
