I've said for years now that pro sports is just a cover for real estate scams. Thats why the taxpayers should always vote no whenever one of these grifters shows up in their city looking for a handout.
 
Of course he was never the best, despite Dhaliwal's assertion. That spot is and always will be reserved for Danny Gallivan. But Robson was definitely among the greatest, and certainly better than anyone working today.

I think Ronson was better than either one of the Hewitt's. Neither of them could ever get hired today with those annoyingly nasal voices.

Robson was on a par with guys like Kelly, Don Wittman, and Ted Darling. Good but not anywhere near Mount Rushmore.

And yeah, if you include francophones, Rene is right up there with Gallivan and Cole.
 
Don Wittman isn't even near the list, he was football and track, hockey he was mid

you cannot put Foster down, he was hockey in Canada for 20 years from 1930s to 50s

and it isn't like Danny's voice wasn't unique to say the least
 
Danny's voice was unique but not in a nails across a blackboard way like The Hewitt's.

And Wittman called game 5 of the 86 Finals so he's all good as far as Im concerned. He also got fucked over by CBC which means he must have been good because CBC only punishes the good ones. Ron McLean has a job for life, which tells you how fucked things are.

For all the years that Foster and Bill Hewitt called games you'd think they could do better on the pronunciation of the French player's names. Foster was able to get the 72 Soviet team names down without a problem but could never properly pronounce the name "Cournoyer". His son used to refer to Rejean Houle as "Raygenoole".
