OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I just love the way the headlines are about irresponsible young people and these places are full of 40+ years people (including prominent political types ... though don't know if any are going these days).

You don't have to look very hard to find large groups of 20 somethings not giving a fuck either.

I want to see more substance about covid in the media... Some fear mongering. People need to be scared again.

I get annoyed at the "60% of cases were in those under 40" stat they keep rolling out each day. Like I get it, alot of people are being irresponsbile.

But 50% of the population is under 40 - including the majority of the people who have to go to school and work everyday. So is 60% of the cases in that population really something news worthy like all these under 40's are trying to murder their grandparents? It's lazy.

It's also worth noting that the 'under 40' crowd is disproportionately represented among -- service workers, students and other positions that the government has been pushing for them to be active in. Then they turn around and blather about house parties and the stenographers do their thing.

I can't speak for Toronto, but in Middlesex with our recent spike like 85% of cases have been associated with Western University house parties and bars. That's why a lot of the hand wringing has been directed at the youths here.

Every single restaurant and bar with a patio here is basically packed. If there are tables and chairs outside, people are using them. And they're with a group of friends who in most cases don't live with them, and sitting within a few feet of several other strangers.

I would love to be out and doing what I was doing before March, but I just don't get these people.

live a little. Ask for Vitamin D ketchup on your burger.

Are we not testing 2-3x more people per day than before ?
Does that make it better? We're at like 15 times more cases than we were at the recent lows which really weren't that long ago. Testing about the same amount as then. Crazy rapid exponential growth.

Pretty safe to say they rushed the re-openings when this thing was almost beat. Did we really need to rush open the malls, restaurants, bars, churches, schools, colleges, universities etc.. etc.. and now with a huge spike further re-opening casinos. Wtf?
