Bouillon Bilk's on my list of places to go. Never heard of Escondite, but it's 5 mins walk from my work, so maybe one day after work...

I've been to the Bilk. I liked it. Their sister restaurant Cadet is also quite good if you 're in the mood for a small plates/wine bar vibe. The king of that vibe is of course Vin Papillon.

I'm tempted to finally try Nora Gray this time around.

Thx for the Escondite tip -- looks good.

Nora Gray is very good...it's the old Joe Beef chef that owns it

Vin Papillon was awesome...but when we got there and looked at the menu, we almost left....nothing seemed good or interesting...but good thing we stayed...we almost ordered everything on the menu, and loved it!!! Highly recommended !!!

Not as good as places like Tuck Shop, but still very good

I can vouch for Nora Grey. Awesome place.

I don't know if I'll ever go to Vin Papillon because I don't drink. I can't stand wine and alcohol in general.

You can enjoy Vin Papillon without drinking....just as good

The thing with Vin Papillon is that not only was the food fresh and healthy, but the presentation of the plate was also very nice. I'm not talking nice like Toqué/Boulud places, but nice in terms of creativity and colors

So don't drink. Get a spot on the patio (arrive early) and feast away. The food is killer and the kind of stuff you won't find anywhere else (smoked carrot "brisket", Quebec sturgeon caviar, BBQ turkey wing, etc). They're always adding new dishes depending on the season. Their homemade ham is decadent.

Went to Casa Galicia last night. I haven't been to a Spanish restaurant in god knows how many years. For shame. Paella might be one of my favorite dishes ever.

Excellent place. Food was awesome and the ambiance was nice.

Im booking a couple habs games this year and was wondering about the Club Desjardins seats. I have been to many games but havent tried them and was interested. I always sit mid-low reds.. often around section 124. I enjoy the view and I usually pay out the ass on stubhub , etc...so I dont mind paying a little for the club seats if worth it. I was wondering in particular:

- How is the view ? I love being in the reds and wouldnt want to sacrifice too much of that.

-How are the seats ? How much more roomy and easy to move around . It can be like cattle on the main concourse as you know. In particular I'm wondering how much easier it is to get to a bathroom (absolute worst thing about Centre Bell!) and a bar.

- Is the food any good and is it accessible, or a pain in the ass?

I appreciate any feedback , thanks

To those of you who are into whiskey (here's looking at you Habsy & Rolex), I'm looking to buy something for my friend's birthday over the weekend. I'm either going to get him one expensive bottle (~$120 max) or 2-3 less expensive bottles but that are good bang for buck. I'm always looking for suggestions.

What I have in mind as is:

Glenlivet https://www.saq.com/page/fr/saqcom/scotch-single-malt/the-glenlivet-founders-single-malt-scotch-whisky/12673675

Té Bheag https://www.saq.com/page/fr/saqcom/scotch-blended/te-bheag-un-chilfiltered-gaelic-scotch-blended/858209

Aberlour 12 years https://www.saq.com/page/en/saqcom/scotch-single-malt/aberlour-12-ans-highland-scotch-single-malt/10866887

Laphroaig 10 years https://www.saq.com/page/fr/saqcom/scotch-single-malt/laphroaig-10-ans-islay-scotch-single-malt/11534876

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Not available anymore, unfortunately.

I stopped by the SAQ on City Councellers & de Maisoneuve and they have a shitton of stuff. A lot outside of my price bracket, too, but eh.
