Na won the 1st set and then twisted her ankle so that may have helped Azarenka come back. I found the match non comparable to the men's battles no matter how much Chris Evert and Pam Shriver tried to make it sound like a classic.

Evert was saying that Azarenka has been trashed the past two weeks by the media and fans in Australia. I'm not sure what that was about... anyone know the details because Azarenka started balling when she won the match as if a big weight was lifted off her shoulders?

Btw... one of the guys from ROFLMAO was in the stands rooting for Azarenka. I know he is a big tennis fan as I have seen him at many tournaments. I guess now that his group has broken up this is all he will do from now on.

She was trashed because she took a medical timeout against Stephens in the semi final when it appeared that she was losing her cool. A lot of tennis players have used the same strategy , so I think the press and fans were a bit too harsh. In the end they seemed to accept her win, because they admired how she fought against the controversy. I think she has a sweet personality, the other tennis players seem to like her a lot.

As for RedFoo of LMAFO, he has been following Azarenka around for awhile now.

I can't stand Azarenka either: her grunts and her nasty attitude on court.

She deserved the treatment she got from the crowd imo.

Too bad Na played one too many tournaments prior to the tournament; when you get tired you're more prone to injuries. :(

I can't stand Djoker or Murray: mens' final sucks big time!!!!!!!

That's too bad, because I think it'll be very good finals....

Hopefully Murray will dig in deep and make a match out of this....

Yeah, I was just reading about that. It says she took the medical timeout after blowing 5 match point shots against Stephens. I can see why the crowd would be against her.

I just don't like her grunt sounds. I don't think that helps her with the fans either.

I didn't even get up to watch this final. :couch

Murray got a taste of what it is like to play someone AFTER that other person has played a five set match. He got the benefit of playing Federer after he played Tsonga. Murray had pretty much a walk through to the semi-finals.

Krust is the only person I "know" who claims actually to like Murray.

It was going Murray's way and I thought he would win after winning the 1st set and looking even stronger in the 2nd. Then towards the end of the 2nd set he started to have blister problems with his feet and that seemed to affect him in the tie-break where he lost convincingly.

After that Djokovic just picked up steam and Murray started to fall.

Looks like the 5-setter with Federer hurt Murray in the long run but I won't be surprised if he ends the year as #1 in 2013 because the guy looked good through the 1st half of this match.

Hands up if you are shocked a grump like Murray has one of the all time no personality grumps like Lendl as his coach?

Lotus, why do you hate Azarenka's grunts, you never complain about Sharapova's grunts ;)

The beef with Azarenka is that she told the press (on-court post-match interview) that she took the medical time out vs Sloane because she was feeling anxious, having some kind of panic attack because of nerves. Idiot. You don't do that. In the public's eye her MTO was cheating.

Actually I never liked Maria's grunts before either but she is such a babe that the "imagining her in bed" fantasy seems to be receptive to my brainwaves. Azarenka just looked so trashy in that final that I wanted her to lose based on that alone... then I could see her grunting on every shot even when she did tap shots at the net and I realize what a bitch she is trying to scare her opponent with her beastly look and sound. I mean those purple tights she was wearing and yellow shirt with the yellow headband had even lesbians turning away. Azarenka actually looked decent last night in the stands at the men's final so you know her look and sound on the court is all part of her strategy.

I know Spain came with a C team as none of their top players are here but Canada is up 2-0 after Raonic and Dancevic won singles yesterday. Still would be a huge upset for us to advance.
