OT: Tennis anyone?

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Milos Raonic, The Majors, etc.

Milos wins second set 6-4. One more set for history to be made

Great win! Who cares if it was Spain's b or c team? This is a great moment for tennis in this country...

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Milos Raonic, The Majors, etc.

Spain dissed us by not sending their real team. Dancevic played above his head. Now we get Levine so we have two decent players for singles.

I believe our next opponent is Italia.

I guess it's win-win for me.

Milos Raonic ‏@milosraonic
Thank you all for the love. Great moment for Canadian tennis but even better ones ahead!

By the way Lotus, I can't say that I know Tennis like you, but I did watch a fair amount of Milos' match on Sunday and I have to admit that he does seem to make quite a few unforced errors. Really needs to cut down on that if he wants to crack the top 10.

Although he did make some nice shots too.

Yep, that's his knock right now... unforced errors. His volleying game has gotten better in the past year so he is improving but I am not sure at the pace the top 4 did. Unforced errors are a killer because you are basically giving up the point to your opponent without a fight and in tennis against the top players that is enough to sway a match. I don't mind the missed shots when he is going for the outside lines because he will get better at those as he plays but shots into the net are brutal.

I wouldn't be surprised if he changes coaches at some point in the next year... not because the current one is no good but because you need to know if you are being pushed correctly when you are not in a match... ie, training and what to practice.
