Tiger Woods is tied for 2nd going into the third round of The Open Championship. Miguel Angel Jimenez leads by one stroke at -3. Graham Delaet made the cut. He is +6, the cut was +8.
Luke Donald, Justin Rose, Tom Watson, Vijay Singh, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy were among those who did not make the cut.

He's like a mad scientist. One is never sure what's gonna happen, but it's always interesting. There are times when I wonder if he knows he's supposed to hit the fairways and greens.

he is six 2nd place US Open finishes from the career slam....pretty crazy
never won a major until he was 33 ... now has 5 (3 masters, 1 open, 1 PGA) with 14 additional top 3s
just for count....tiger has never one a major after he was 33 (he was 32 when he won his last major)
I was asking all the media outlets on twitter yesterday that I saw mentioning Eldrick why it was all about him all the time. They play into his narcissism.

The media focuses on what sells. Most casual fans only know Eldrick. If he doesn't make the cut viewership plummets. Win or lose he is the only reason a lot of people bother watching golf. There are many people out there who never watched a minute of golf before Eldrick and who will never watch a minute of golf once he retires. The media knows this. Heck a lot of the media coverage that golf gets nowadays is solely because of him. There are people in the golf media who only have their jobs because he's there. Once he's gone the golf media is going to be laying off a whole bunch of them.
I just find it funny that he can be 15 shots behind, gets a birdie and the press goes, here comes Tiger, can he catch the leader etc

I'm not really sure why you're so confused by the amount of coverage he gets. Most people watch golf to see how Tiger does. Plain and simple.
We get that you don't like him, but it doesn't take a PHD to understand why he gets the coverage that he does.

It's funny because I sort of always liked watching Tiger when he is in the hunt but this time he got off to a shitty start, started cursing on the course and having a fit (I especially loved it when he blew his nostrils out while the camera was on him) and I basically said to myself... **** this... I am rooting for someone else and I hope Woods implodes further as his day wears on.

Clearly this is in-line with when he smashed his SUV into a tree when his wife found out he was also banging their babysitter.
Today he gets mad easily and some suggest this all goes back to him getting caught back then and he is still pissed off today that he can't have it all... family, golf majors and any hoe he wants after a round of golf.
