I don't know much about the outdoors, but hiking on a mountain in the rain sounds like a really bad idea.

Sucks and all, but so easily preventable.

You seem to have made up points to support what is really a stupid argument.

Rush Limbaugh wants gays off of the planet? Ridiculous.
lol! "Stupid Argument?" What argument am I making? It's well documented that Limbaugh is very much anti-gay. It's hilarious that you'd use your disdain for me to defend him on that. And now, he's hired the like that he despises so much to play for his wedding. Limbaugh hates gays. Try Google. Or dogpile.

Long Hot Summer Begins: Congressman Attacks Student
by Mike Flynn

Maybe it is my Catholic upbringing, but I’ve always been cursed with a bit too much empathy. It is often difficult to witness people bearing the full weight of the consequences of their decisions, even when it is richly deserved. (And, in the case of House Democrats few have ever been more deserving of reaping everything they’ve sown.) We’re human, after all, and witnessing people on the cusp of realizing that they’ve lost everything can be difficult.

He didn't hire a gay entertainer, he hired an entertainer.

And no, Limbaugh doesn't want "gays off the planet". If you are going to make wild inferences, then it's up to you to back it up.

I'm not defending Limbaugh for what he is, I'm defending the fact that he's never made a claim to want all gays wiped out.

University of Waterloo just suspended it's entire football program over steroids. LOL. I mean, even with steroids our boys put up a 3-5 record. Not a ringing endorsement of the product they must have been using.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are out to change the world again.....

The $600 billion challenge Bill Gates, Melinda Gates, and Warren Buffett are asking the nation's billionaires to pledge to give at least half their net worth to charity, in their lifetimes or at death. If their campaign succeeds, it could change the face of philanthropy.

Read the rest of the story here.

Instead of giving money (continually) to needy people, why not find a way to generate income, prosperity, success...something tangible instead of a quick fix.
Give somebody food...or teach an area how to farm, give them equipment, make them self-sufficient.

I can't remember the exact example but they tried a similar method in the late 1980s or early 1990s with a tribe in Africa. They purchased modern, upscale fishing vessels for them to ply Lake Victoria with and even constructed a multi-million dollar fish-processing and refrigeration facility so that the fish could be processed and stored before it was shipped all over the continent. The problem? The people that they were dealing with were primarily a herding people that cultivated sheep and cattle so they did not adapt well to a sedentary lifestyle. In addition, the refrigeration unit did not adapt well to the hot African summers and constantly was over-heated or out of order. The whole experiment was a complete failure. Which is not to say that if they took the groups' lifestyle into account and employed basic logic that it doesn't have the potential to succeed in the future, but I always think about that high-profile example.

Crazy day today at work. This guy Claude Haridge works for the company I work for. When he got to work today a full tactical squad with automatic rifles and shotguns arrested him in the parking lot, I guess they had followed him from his house.

Where do you work? I was driving on Carp Rd in Stittsville and there were tons of undercover tactical unit vehicles parked outside a house and a ton of cops. I figured that the arrests went down at that house.

They might be calculating damages in different ways.

Perhaps damage just to the property. Perhaps damage + lost revenues for the branch.

Not really surprised, especially considering the claims he attended activism courses at U of O.

that whole "activist" subculture- left wing, narcissistic, intolerant-while-claiming-to-be-tolerant, pretentious, secularist, anti-semitic, anti-israel, is what is on display here.

Re: OT - The News Thread

in the citizen this morning it was reported that one of these losers "spends his free time watching the daily show and writing letters to the editor against israel's actions".
