Crazy, new DA took over in January 2022, had his people go over all the evidence they had from scratch, including some new tidbits, and by March 14th 2022 they had Heuermann as a primary suspect to focus the investigation on.

One witness saw a certain model Chevy Avalanche, another a vague description…they then were able to match phone records of his cell, the victims cell phones, and a burner phone that was used to originally contact the escorts…..all pinging off the same towers at the same time. Then connected his burner & his cell phone to Manhattan when calls to escorts/families of past victims were being made, which is where his work office was….at some point he also texted a selfie of himself to an escort linking him with the burner, and they snatched a pizza box he discarded to match his DNA with familial DNA found on three of the victims (believed to be his wife’s hair). All the killings occurred when his wife and kids were either out of the country, or out of the state.

also turned up Google search results of him looking up some pretty sadistic shit, as well as inquiring on elements of the LISK investigation, watching YT videos about them, and searching “why haven’t police been able to trace the calls LISK made to victims families”

Also searched “Asian twink” at one point….and one of the unidentified bodies on Long Island was of an Asian male.

Sounds like they felt most confident they had enough evidence to nail him for three of the killings, so went ahead with those to get him off the streets….but likely believe he’s responsible for a couple of the others as well.

yeah I’m curious what it was they did that enabled them to tie it all together. Whether it was a new piece of evidence that came in, and the DA is just framing it in a fashion to shine the spotlight on himself.

or if maybe he was responsible to having a digital forensics team go through every phone that pinged towers at the same time as the victims phones & burners, to find a third that happened to ping the same tower as the others at pivotal moments.
