Clarkson to Columbus

Here's bottom line on Clarkson-Horton trade: Horton's contract wasn't insured. CBJ paying him to sit in stands and he's longshot to play.

Its a smart move by Florida. Clarkson was waking up recently. And he seems to be so under the radar/lights in Toronto, he might literally find some of that good game he had in New Jersey. Its a no lose for Florida. It certainly is a massive brilliant CAP game move by MLSE. Brilliant.

A friend of mine knows Shanahan very well and he said this buy is obsessed with being the "guy" who brings the bacon home for GTA and a Stanley Cup. This is just a brilliant move.

Obviously signing as many Winnik's and Santorelli's is the way to go now.

The awakening has started fellow blue and white fans. Someone up top really gets "it" now.

Clarkson will score 50 goals next year... book it.

All jokes aside, the flexibility this opens up for us is amazing.

MLSE just said **** you cap.

Wonder if this is the sort of cap circumvention that Burke is going to bitch about.

I think i'm most impressed TOR didn't have to give Columbus a pick.

Columbus was the one that was in a bind, not us. I'm surprised we didn't get a pick, actually.

Columbus was paying $5M+ to a player to not play, and paying another player to fill that roster spot.

We were just overpaying for a 4th liner.

Some great cap stuff guys. Where there is a will there is a way. MLSE management is being directed by a guy that gets it now. Have to think its Shanahan.

Cap space > real money

Wow... congrats guys. I would have lost a lot of money betting against this if there were any takers.
