OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

If we had a real PF who actually did PF things like rebound and not be embarrassing with his back to the basket, and we actually used him and Val properly, this series would be over.

Too busy trying to be a low rent Golden State Warriors though with the entire ****ing team chucking 3's without conscience.

After Masai's comments earlier in the season about what he needs to see to be willing to give Demar a max extension...well...enjoy the Lakers DD. Where being an all star in the regular season and a 1st round flop is considered a failure worth being booed right out of the arena.

Yeah, I'm glad Masai is running the show. Anyway, I'm not even sure he'll end up in LA. "Going home" is one of the laziest tropes in the banal field of sports journalism. There is no evidence that NBA players want to go home. Just as many would rather go elsewhere than deal with a bunch of hanger ons from high school.

If Masai was willing to give Derozan the max after his regular season, it'd be pretty dumb of him to change that stance based on a 4 game sample where Derozan was guarded by Paul George. He was either worth it well before this series, or he wasn't.

PG has been filthy on D this series.

Yep, Jack Armstrong was pointing this out during one of the games. DD was scoring at will when Solomon Hill was guarding him, but struggled whenever George was on him. Not making excuses for DeMar's overall poor play so far in this round, but Paul George is really underrated. He's a great player, and he's been beasting in this series.

Then Derozan has to understand this and become an amazing passer especially to Jonas...if he keeps doing the same old crap then he's playing right into their hands and showing he ain't smart

“My thing is (as an all-star) you’ve just got to find a way to get to 20 points,” said Jerry Stackhouse, the Raptors assistant coach who, as an all-star himself, was never shy about jacking it up. “It doesn’t matter if you’re 5-for-10 or 5-for-25. You get 20 points on the board, that’s what stars got to do for your team. You’re getting so much attention, it should make it easier for your other role players.”

Stackhouse should be fired immediately.

Not sure if someone shit in your breakfast or are just truly annoyed but the argument isn't about putting the ball in the basket. Its about an assistant coach telling a player to keep shooting regardless of the percentage the shot has to go in.

We've seen this entire series (along with previous playoffs) that Derozan is forcing his shots as opposed to playing within the flow of the offense. Considering in his career he has a 36.6fg% in the postseason(12th worst in history for a player with minimum 250 shots) i'd say its probably a good idea if he doesn't take as many shots.

Considering Jerry Stackhouse had a 36.9fg% in the postseason(15th worst in history) i'm not overly fond of him telling our player to shoot more inefficient shots and just "get your 20 points".
