GDT OCT 26 - Canes @ Leafs - 7pm SN

Millen is really, really boring too. He has nothing to offer.
Yeah, he's nothing like say, Jim Ralph or Harry Neale, two of my all-time favourites as far as colour commentators go. No sense of humour to speak of, no interesting stories, no real deep insights into the game. He's just a bland filler of airtime.

As best I can recall, he got here around the time the Leafs got Raycroft. It's been a decade plus of this bullshit and, I suspect, contributes in no small part to the ridiculous blame the Leafs blueline always takes. Not a great defensive period by any stretch, but it is made to look much worse by the shit goaltending. Two soft goals in one period is just completely unacceptable.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right about that. I believe he started out as the colour guy on Sens regional broadcasts, before making his way to Toronto just as our decade of absolute shit goaltending was starting to kick off.

And seriously, if you were blind, and experienced hockey games solely by listening to him call the game, you would've come away from those years believing that Raycroft, Toskala, Gustavsson & Bernier were all elite goaltenders.

heh, sad, but true. This guy is beyond awful. It's astounding with their annual purges that he holds on.

The good thing about Andersen is the mentality. He doesn't get phased. So things never really get out of control. Even when he is slumping like this he just keeps playing. Unlike some goalies we have had around here.

It's getting harder and harder for anyone to argue against Hyman on that first line.

That's four goals and six points now in ten games.

we're so bad tonight.

lucky to be close.
Yeah, they're sloppy as hell tonight. But that offense is still dangerous enough to pull us even.
