well it started with the planted story a week or so ago. It is management's M.O. If a player generates any sympathy, anonymously trash him through friendly media to grease us before the trade.
 
I just want everyone to know that since I hate most moves the habs make, because they always suck and I am 90% right, that I do like this trade. I like it even more because MB made it, and I was expecting far worse.
 
We could easily have afforded both that and the term, especially since we took on Tatar for not much less for two of those years (and he is a worse player)
 
to play with us, he would have to beat out two of Plekanec, Danault, Punka err Peca or De La Rose. Can't see that happening

We now have Tatar at 5.3 million for two of those years and he is a worse player.

Hell, we have Weber at 7.8 for what, another 7 years and he is 33

I like this trade because its exactly the type of deal we need when you are rebuilding .

Finally they make a move that fits with what they should be doing especially with a vet hitting UFA .

could afford it

and honestly if the habs kept markov, radulov, etc it would have been great to keep max to a 4 year deal
 
The team was trolling us last night though, about 10 min after twitter announced it, they put up a Max montage.

BTW, that is twice in three seasons that we have traded a captain or assistant who were injured in their last game with us, and who had foundations.

Totally disagree , we are a nothing team

Max at 31 is pointless for us . By the time we are ready to compete he is most likely in decline.

For Vegas he is perfect . They have solid young pieces on their roster and have a hell of a coach .

He slides in their top 6 as a solid support player and should be very productive .

This team is miles ahead of us in development. With the Hawks and others in decline they have a nice window to be competitive in the west .

This is not a money issue at all . Wrong player for the wrong team
