2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

And it looks like Matthews is legitimately injured, not merely sick. Definitely having trouble skating. Either a groin or a knee or ankle but something is definitely wrong.

They should have done a complete tear down after the Habs dummied them in 2021. They will never win anything with that core of entitled little shits.

The funny thing is, everyone knew this. Everyone knew they were excessively front-loaded, everyone knew the Tavares contract wasn't a good idea, everyone knew their defense and goaltending wasn't good enough.

...And yet, they chose to re-sign Nylander instead of trading him, and now they're probably going to trade Marner for a less-than-ideal return.

Dubas made the same basic error twice it seems. Tavares with TML and then Karlsson with Pitt. Long-term, binding cap commitments that didn’t fix emerging or existing imbalances on the rosters that has screwed up TML and will screw up Pitt.

They didn’t need them, but they were/are stuck with them.

Probably not. They're the ones who told Shanahan to hire someone who wouldn't trade one of the Matthews-Nylander-Marner-Tavares four.
Actually no the CEO came in on April 2nd. It’s expected Larry Tannenbaum will sell his shares of MLSE to Rogers & Bell - he hired & supported Shanahan and had last say on MLSE board
