yes but there weren't any Doughyty-Hedman type dmen in the top of those drafts, they had to settle for McDavid-Leon type players

Its embarrassing that the Oilers are still as shit as they are, but hey maybe they get another top three pick after tonight as a reward.

They rewarded us with KK last year and 2 other lottery picks in the last 7 years .

No ne would shed a tear if we ended in the top 3 this year having a shit year .

The system isn't perfect but the draft never is and its a lottery .


I would simply give the bottom 5 lets say 8% chance each ...you can tank all you want your odds are the same

Give the rest about 3-4 % so everyone has a decent shot .

Exactly, we have only had two 3rd overall picks in the last 8 years, why would anyone shed a tear if we did get a top three pick this year? We’re not consistent bottom feeders like the Oilers or Sabres or in the next four years the Sens.

Nothing wrong with taking advantage of the draft system in place to progress but how about allowing to spread the wealth of elite level prospects to other organizations that are struggling to become good teams but aren’t bad enough on a consistent basis to get the amount of top picks some teams get.
