I agree, just this year, the 2020-2021 season is going to start like 1-2 months after the playoffs and there aren't going to be huge celebrations with COVID.

In truth, it would depend on the first overall pick in question. If that pick was Mario Lemieux, Crosby or McDavid, I might chose the pick instead of the Cup, knowing that the likelihood of one or multiple cups with those players is high, as well as the prolonged benefit of enjoying multi-years of stardom from the players could balance out the ephemeral joy of a Cup.
