The faces behind the words.....

In keeping with the TA theme, this picture was taken of me in Berlin. I had spent the day with my brothers at a beer garden. We were having a few more beers outside our apartment when a cute girl asked us if we'd mind moving to the side, as they were about to do a photo shoot. As you can see that photo shoot was of the x-rated variety. Just so happens I was wearing a Leafs shirt.

Where are you in that picture???

Thank you kindly, sir. Try to run a bare minimum of 15-20 miles per week. Anything more is just too hard on the knee joints.

15-20 is still pushing it (for my knees at least). Although I guess we're still young enough we can get away with those kinds of things.

When I lived in Washington I did about 5 miles/day 4-5 times a week, but it didn't take long for my knees to start getting upset. Now I'm down to 12-15 miles over 3-4 runs with a couple swims mixed in (although as good as swimming is for you, the ****ing chlorine takes away a good deal of the benefit).

How many times a week do you run?

I try to do between three and four. I'll do a half mile run as a warm-up before a resistance and weights work-out most days at the gym followed by 30-45 minutes on the treadmill at a healthy clip (I try to average at least 7 miles per hour) with rapidly changing inclines. That gets me between 4 and 6 miles most times.

In the summer it's obviously preferable to go for long runs at nights but the cold weather and snow/ice makes that a non-starter for winter if you want to sustain any decent speed or intensity. What about yourself? I always recommend people push themselves rather than rest on their laurels; you always want to challenge your body.

When I was at my peak I would just go pretty hard for about 30-35 minutes; I was able to average about 7:45 minute miles over the course of the run, and I'd do it Monday-Thursday after work. That was all on a treadmill, mostly cause the neighbourhood I lived in in DC wasn't exactly the type of place you would want to go for a late night jog.

I much prefer being outside though, when I worked out in BC for a couple months running out in the mountains was simply amazing... fresh clean air and unbelievably difficult hills. But obviously living in Canada you can't be outside year round, and I hate running on pavement too.

Now I've been doing a combination of weights and a run, still building my endurance back up after a summer mostly off. Try for ~25-30 minutes on the treadmill and about the same with weights. Still trying to get myself back under 8 minute miles, once I get going I can do it but the first mile is much slower. I totally relate to trying to push yourself as well, I enjoy a workout a lot more if it's a challenge rather than something you breeze through.

Through high school I always played sports that required cardio, and after a couple years in uni of being a bum realized I like having good cardio. Great stress relief too I find.

Absolutely the best stress relief I know of.

Hurt my back two weeks ago, hadn't been able to do anything for a while. I noticed I was really bummed, but as soon as I got back in the gym I felt better.

I do eleptical machine 4.5mil for about 4-5 days a week. (takes me about 40 to 45mins to do that much) It's the best workout. It's a whole body workout if you do it right..there is no better machine imo.

This is my friend and I before Guvernment on Halloween.

Are you on the left or right?

Haha... some lovely pics and comments up in this shiz. Good thing I have enough narcissism to get it sparked up every so often.

My Movember stache is made of beer. I think I've posted this one before, but it still looks pretty much like this.
