If you believe a response to a comment by 'Carolina Hurricanes' on the Facebook page, they claim that the 30% deposit is 'risk free' and something could be done if you change your mind. They recommended talking to your ticket rep to discuss the options.
I can't say that's 100% true or not, but whoever monitors that Facebook account seemed to be suggesting that if you put your 30% down now and you don't like the moves in the offseason, you can somehow get out of your commitment. Might be worth checking with your ticket rep to see if that is really true so you don't miss out on the food credit if it is.

Did people expect JR (or anyone) contacted about how Mo's been doing in WPG to crap on him? That wouldn't happen no matter who you are talking about or who is willing to go on record doing the talking.

Thanks, that's very valuable info. Certainly worth a discussion, in that IF I'm going to drop what is now twice what I used to drop per seat, then getting 10% of it back as a "JR credit card" is a perk worth consideration.
Yup I got that response on my Facebook post. My hunch says I can wait until September 1st and will still have plenty of opportunity to get season tickets... It's worth the risk to wait if you ask me. There will be plenty of seats available! Honestly even if it costs me more in the long run. I don't care. What's it matter if I save money on the tickets but get yet another sorry piece of effort again on the ice? They have ripped me off for the sorry performance on the ice for the last time. The twist this year, they commit to me before I commit to them this time.
I'm tired! I'm damn tired: of supporting a piss-poor team (good players poor team). of not getting a sniff at the playoffs again, of 41 home games taking up a lot of time we could something else with*, of spending $3600 and mostly disappointment to show for it*, of having one thing controlling so much of our time and lives*, of having little faith that mgt. is actually going to give us a team worth all that, but especially of being pushed to DO IT NOW, RENEW, RENEW, RENEW...,
Goddamit, give me some breathing room, quit hounding me while I feel like it's hardly worth it. in September, I'll be anxious for the season to start and I'll be ready to renew. Now? I'm about hockeyed out!
*1- we haven't been to a concert in about two years, theatre once in a year, and maybe 3-5 movies a year.
2- Our row A, on the glass (325), on the blueline seats are great, that's the ONLY thing I feel positive about right now.
3- See #1 and far too many times, we stayed for games when we wanted to go to our house at the coast, or off to see family.
4- I don't expect next year to be any better, I've thought each it would but how has that worked out?
Right now the plan is to drop one seat and share with seatmates who will do the same. Still..., 20 games in the arena, 20 home on TV and 21 away games!
I've been an STH since 1998, 15 years, we've been loyal but the org shows no loyalty to us.
Right now, I'm finding the 'give-a-shit' factor is mighty low! And I'm hounded into making a decision in the next week.
We represent their worst nightmare, STH's who just may not be back! Without some serious improvements, I will be GONE after next season!

Had a similar discussion with my seatmates of 13 seasons (that's 14 years, thanks to the '04-'05 lockout), *AH*. We are exploring splitting a couple of seats with them next season instead of each of us no longer attending any home games at all.
But that option removes one of the few things that has gotten us through many a miserable hockey night as a home team fan...that misery loves company thing. We're certainly losing the spouses for next season. Might be down to just us two guys and I've already blown off over a half-dozen home games this season with last-minute decisions to watch from home instead, even though just a mere 6 miles away.
I feel an open letter to JR coming on.
But that option removes one of the few things that has gotten us through many a miserable hockey night as a home team fan...that misery loves company thing. I expect the folks in the front office have already seen our posts. I know they read us as I've gotten feedback... Now, whether JR will ever hear about it... And is he even going to be the one? I'd bet he will, even if there's a GM change Jim will likely remain Prez and run the business side. All speculation of course.

Well, let's just say it's been a steady plateau of "we like our brand of entertainment" since Jim Cain went on to bigger and better things.
And we've lost that loving feeling.

IMO, "we like our brand of entertainment" and its variants are hockey, not business statements. And Jim Cain left the organization in October, 2002. All of the wrong-headed fan experience decisions since then can be blamed on JR wearing 2 hats. But "we like our team" and Mo 2.0 wouldn't have changed if he was still here.
Yeah ... and I'm probably getting less popular over there with every passing week.
