At his contract and production, there would be a lineup. He's not a bad hockey player per se, he's just a terrible fit for what we've got up front. On a strong possession team in need of some middle 6 skill at centre, he could be an excellent add. Problem here is that we don't need that at all, we need a big top 6 centre who can control the puck because our wingers aren't great at generating that along the walls.

Secretly, I wonder if this is just their new way of getting our hopes up and then dashing them. I could see them crashing all the way down to the bottom-5, leaving us all with visions of Nylander/Strome or maybe even McDavid/Nylander up the middle for us for the next 10 years, only for them to stomp on the gas and reel off a win streak that takes us all the way out of the bottom-10.
