As for PK he may have jinxed his own goalie when he said that Rinne is the best goalie in the world at the moment.

Rinne sucks ass on the road...he's not even the best goalie in the series.
 
Apparently the Preds banned PK from speaking with the media for the last three days of the series. They probably weren't too pleased about the fact that he negotiated an endorsement deal with Listerine during the finals nor about his guarantee prior to game 3. They finally had to take the microphone away from him.

This need he has to constantly be the centre of attention, especially off the ice, is what got him traded out of Montreal and I'm betting that he doesn't retire as a Pred either.

This isn't about "old school" versus "new school". This is about a guy who puts himself in front of his team. No one in the room is going to respect that.

How can anyone condemn a guy for making as much coin as he can?

If he could get a Listerine deal as a result of the comments, more power to him.

There is also nothing wrong with guaranteeing win, hell his team won. Mark Messier guaranteed a win and people suck his cock over it, same with Joe Namath. Subban does it and somehow he is the biggest ******* in hockey history.
 
I've said it for years...PK is annoying as hell if you're a teammate. But as a fan, it's fun and there's no proof these types of shenanigans cost the team. I've seen plenty of teams win in NBA, NFL, MLB, EURO SOCCER with oversized personalities that cause locker room rifts. As Al Davis said, JUST WIN BABY!

Agreed nothing wrong with anyone doing as well for themselves as they can, but timing was questionable...PK is a very smart and calculated businessman - the optics suggest this Listerine deal was well in the works, and he conveniently used post game PC to launch his ad campaign.

Could PK have not waited a few days till the end on the finals?

The Preds org obviously felt there was a distraction & placed a gag order on Subban from talking to the media the last 3-days of the series.

Imagine if the old school Habs were to have placed a gag order on Subban for doing the same as progressive Preds, how much of a beating they would be taking for always making Subbans life miserable.....just sayin.

For the record Subban play as shutdown Dman was exceptional these playoffs, pre & post Listerine-gate, he just couldn't elevate like Crosby could when the chips were down.....but how many NHL players can?

Listerine claimed they reacted to the comment and seized the occasion.

Also the Preds haven't been able to score a single goal since gagging Subban. Maybe they should have let him talk.
