The Good, the Bad and the Ugly GDT: Game #5 | Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens | Oct. 14, 20

They have to take two out of three on this trip. If they get swept, the season is over.

I've predicted a 4-10 start for the Habs with a sprinkle of overtime losses among the 10.

The games after the west-coast trip won't be easy for the Habs either.

The Habs had a terrible off season. This struggle isn't shocking, but we can't have a coach making it harder with dumb moves like Pleks vs. Matthews OT matchups. You'll NEVER win that matchup obviously. Keep in mind that I like Julien, but he's struggling right now too.

I would take Roy as GM in a New York minute.

High risk High reward beats no risk no reward all day every day.

We played a vulnerable team defensively they allowed 11goals the last two games....I’m not absolving Price cause he sucked tonight but gotta try tofind a way to score some timely goals

I understand that you're in shock because of how bad the Habs are and need to look for ways to backhandedly bash "rivals", but the the leafs are gonna be fine defensively.

Weber is the only one I can think of. What else you got?

The Drouin trade was risky one but I think it will work out fine. The biggest issues under MB are 1) the horrible drafting and development under his watch, which he has refused to try and repair, instead he's given his buddies seemingly lifetime jobs with the org., and 2) failure to acquire a true no. 1 center (although Drouin might become that guy).

Right now, it's gonna take Price-Weber walking into Julien's office to let him know that he needs to stop dicking around with Chuckie. Nothing less will do...certainly not Bergevin, who is probably looking for the best offer to ship Chuckie out of town.

5 straight losses, no scoring....

There's a reason Max isn't scoring.....it's so easy for opposing teams to just zoom-in on the Drouin-Max line (just like in the past playoffs)....we need another scoring line to help them, not Pleks-Danault

Also, how stupid it looks when you don't trust Chuckie at center because of his defensive shortcomings, but Pleks hasn't been playing that much better in his own zone over the past 2 years.

Nothing to lose, play Chuckie at center, run-and-gun offense....we have Weber-Price to pick-up the mistakes, no ?

Yup. And ironically. The Drouin acquisition (which I like) would never have happened unless he fell ass backwards into a top 5 pick when his security blanket Price went down for the season.

The organization needs to find a way to draft and develop players not only to bolster the roster, but to put bullets in the GM's gun for when he needs to pull the trigger on a trade.

Parayko in 2012 and one of Theodore (instead of McCarron) or Pesce in 2013 changes the entire makeup of the Habs D.

The window has closed. When you put out a d-pairing of Joe Morrow and Brandon Davidson . . . and your centers after 92 are 24, 14 and 17 . . . good luck.

MB has one card left to play- turn Max into a key piece or two areas of need. Ie Max for Leddy + Brock Nelson or OEL for example.

Question is how desperate are Snow or Chayka?

Tavares is the only player who can save MB's butt and it would cost half the team at this early point in the season, if the Isles would even consider it, which I doubt highly.

Pretty much sums it up if you ask me.

The people who think we will be a middle of the pack offense with Plekanec and Danault being two of our top three centers are not realistic.

We will be a bottom ten team offensively unless there is an upgrade of talent at center after Drouin

I like how we picked Max over Subban (if you believe that locker room tensions helped exit Subban out of town)....and Bergy keeps pounding the word ka-rac-tar left and right in interviews
