It's a matter of who they choose to move. They(to date) keep morrow, Benn and Schlemko, but trade Jerabek, a puck moving defenseman that the team needs.

I mean, yeah, great that they get something for him, better than losing him for nothing, but it's not exactly inspiring confidence that this team is aware of what it needs to get better.

Yeah trading him and getting something instead of losing him for nothing doesn't have anything to do with why I'm mad about this trade.

It's the keeping and playing four other defencemen that are worse than him.

Half of that statement is correct. He is a puck-moving d-man. But they don't really need him.

Ok I’m playing devils advocate cause I in no way like it usually agree with our management.

How do you know that they didn’t try to move Morrow and nobody wanted him? Same with the others? What if multiple of those are moved between now and the deadline. I honestly don’t think Jerabek would be our key to a cup in 5-7 years. So why not, what’s to lose?

The defense needs to be torn down and rebuilt almost from scratch. If the trade deadline passes and they keep Benn, Schlemko and Morrow, to go along with the two unmoveables in Weber and Alzner, yeah, it's going to be a disaster.
