Horrible deal for the Habs. So, pretty awesome deal then.

Galch has no two way game but he’s way more skilled and faster.

Begemoron is building his all 5”10 or under team. Drouin, Domi, and Gallagher.

Suuuuper scary.

He's still a puppy. If he figures it out, this trade gets ugly. This trade is pretty much a wash if 1) AG can't stick at centre & 2) AG's maturity and work ethic remain what they are today.

Galy has been in the league for 6 years already.

he is what he is.

But what is he?

Offensively he's been everything between a 1st liner (2.09 P/60 in 15-16) to a 3rd liner offensively (last season). Which is he? Calling an enigmatic 24 yr old "is what he is" isn't particularly enlightening because we've seen him be drastically different hockey players.

JVR "was what he was" at 23, and so was Kadri. Enigmatic young players aren't exactly rare, and a fair number of them turn into something a lot more than they were at 23.

A slow, soft, defensive liability winger who's pretty good on the PP.

I have a hard time believing that if we had traded Kadri right after his 23 yr old season, for a player who had scored 18 goals in his previous 2 seasons combined, you wouldn't be leading the lynch mob.

This is right up there with the Sergachev trade. Habs got hooped.

Amazing they still let that neanderthal make trades.

I don't think Domi is that much worse than Galchenyuk. But he is less talented, and has less upside. Its just another Habs deal that makes you ask "whats the point of that?"

22-23

JVR: 91gms, ES (A-), 2.14p60, 1.61p160, +0.3cfr, +1.3xgfr / PP 2.61p60, 2.61p160
Kadri: 126gms, ES (B), 2.22p60, 1.88p160, +3.2cfr, +5.7xgfr / PP 5.26p60, 4.00p160

yeah, other than JVR not beasting the PP yet, they were who they were at 23 too.

their coaches and management were idiots though.

22-23

Galy: 143gms, ES (B-), 1.67p60, 1.32p160, -3.0cfr, -5.8xgfr / PP 5.81p60, 3.71p160

He's terrible.

Domi has a shot to be a guy you trust as a core piece.

Galy will always be the complimentary sheltered guy.

Galchenyuk is not slow. He's got good wheels. He floats sometimes and he makes a lot of sharp turns and jukes and jives a lot... but in a straight away race, he holds his own with most of the league.

no, he is slow.even slow guys can look good in a straight line race sometimes. Galy is a standstill player.
