They have nice talent up front like Barkov, Huberdeau, Dadonov, Hoffman, Trotchek but that defense corp is horrible.

If you listen to Denis Potivin who is the color guy for the Panthers speak about Yandle you see him cringe describing how bad he is defensively.

Matheson is also one overated defenseman
 
Is there any update on Byron?

If anything Weegar should have had a symbolic fight for the "code". He did not need to uppercut a lightweight like Byron. He's 40 lbs heavier than Paul.

The post game highlites had Weegar mention that he told Paul if he wanted to fight and he obliged .

IIRC he did say he didn't have to fight and had no intent to injure if they fought

Byron could have said no. The code is obviously irrational to outsiders like us. It's also dated given what we now know about concussions and player safety. But most players abide by it.

yeah, he could have wrassled him to the ground, thrown a punch in the gut and it would have gone away

last night is why 80s hockey was great. If Jf Sauve had taken out a Hab, no one would have expected him to fight. McRae or Donnelly would have started against Nilan and Kordic. Fights happen and it is over.
