Yep. I was accounting for an 8 million AAV for Barrie when I said we’re in good shape next year. It can be done.

They have about 54 mil tied to 7 players including Marner (assuming 11M ) and Phil`s 1.2 mil for the next 3 years

This doesnt include any extensions , trades , or UFA adds

I dont care what capologist you have , they are jammed for years .

With Freddie , Dermot, Muzzin , Barrie , etc.... needing news deals more chopping needs to be done

I honestly don't mind the discussion, but this isn't about free agency, it's an in-depth discussion about the Leafs cap situation. I went through about 4 pages of that discussion to find a single mention of the Johansson signing.
 
Why aren’t Dzingel and Gardiner done yet? This is odd. Could the Habs have deal in place with Dzingel contingent on the Canes formally matching?

You really think we would trade Nylander to clear cap space rather than Ceci? Shit, even if we had to throw a pick or something in to sweeten it, we're going to trade Nylander before we give Ceci away for free?

Nobody is going to give Marner the offer sheet he wants, no. Apparently the ask is 11.5x5

He doesn't want the max term contracts. A 5 yr deal gets him to UFA status sooner, it's the new trend with the young guys.

Raptors apparently were offered George+Westbrook to form super team with Leonard in TO, but refused to give up all those draft picks (and also didn't want Westbrook's 4 years and 170M remaining on his contract)

I think OKC used Raps for leverage. kawhi wanted to go home. If it was just about winning, he would have stayed
