The reasonable number at this point for the Leafs to get it done is 11 over five years, close to Mathews.
The number if an offer sheet is presented may be 12-13
I think the point people are trying to make is that this time next year the contract that may need to be sacrificed is Nylanders to find room to get half your defense signed.
Tyson Barrie will be a 65- 70 positive point dman on the Leafs, that will cost? 7-8 mil AAV from 2.5
Muzzin will look for a raise also.

Yep. I was accounting for an 8 million AAV for Barrie when I said we’re in good shape next year. It can be done.
